Guest guest
, my symptoms are many...from sore, tight hands and feet, to fibromyalgia (I was diagnosed with that) osteo-arthritis (diagnosed) hardening of the veins (signs of scleroderma - systemic), sore muscles, sharp pains down my arms, acute inflammation around the breast area and in joints, brain fog - short-term memory loss, chronic fatique, depression, insomnia - very restless nights, and the list goes on!! I got my implants 20 yrs. ago - I think they're called bilumen - saline on the outer shell, and silicone gel in the middle, with valves to fill up more or to take some out. I'm still pulling up old medical files, some of which have disposed of. My surgery date is July 26 and I would just like to get my health back, or near to where it was. I hope my immune system isn't totally shot. I've had pneumonia 5 times in the last 2 yrs. My right lung hurts all the time - I went to the PS 5 years ago complaining of a sore right breast, and he examined me manually and just said, " Oh, yeah, it's common for implanted women to have some pain. See ya " Well, I went back to him, as my family doctor referred me to him a couple of months ago. He is a very good surgeon, but I don't care for his personality. Oh, well...he promised me he would clean me out properly, without making me bleed too much. He'll do his best. And 6 months later I'll have reconstruction, after my breasts have a chance to " bounce " (pardon the pun!) back. He also ok-ed me keeping my implants to send to Dr. Blais, he told me to check with the hospital. I had an ANA test, came back negative. All my blood work looked o.k. But they don't do indepth work unless you push for it. I want an MRI done after surgery to see if my organs contain silicone. I am fortunate that my family doctor will respect the fact that I know my own body pretty well. He will order any test I ask for, pretty much. He's feeling somewhat uncomfortable with me having requested to have my implants removed and that I believe I am really sick from them. He wanted a copy from me of all the symptoms I have...I printed out Silicone Toxicity Symptoms off the internet and highlighted the symptoms I have -- I had 90% of them! So he was interested in keeping that for future reference. Hope you have some luck in your tests -- it is difficult when we can't prove something scientifically -- too bad people need to be that closed-minded and inflexible.
