Yeah and lucky me I had a bad disc so they thought that was the pain and they did surgery on me..I was laid up 8 weeks and the pain is still there. You are gonna have to tell me about your surgery after its over, what all Dr Schnarrs was able to do etc...did you tell your doctor you are using him ? Who is going with you ? I guess you'll go home afterwards ? You live close enough to do that ,right ?

There was a time my neck was also stiff...and yes it went along with

the choking, gag thing. Eventually my lymph nodes were sore as heck

also. Doctor tested for mono and things....nothing showed up.

But boy do I remember the stiff neck. Could not turn my head side to

side.

I remember someone saying this has something to do with the Vegas (sp?) nerve . . . There was something about breast implants affecting that nerve a long time ago. I've experienced the same thing myself . .. Unfortunately, it still occurs at times. My hubby has saved me twice . . . Everyone needs to know how to do the Heimlec (sp?) maneuver on themselves if they start choking when they're alone. . . You put both hands together into a fist, place them right under the breastbone and push yourself into the back of a chair (or something similar). You don't have to have anything significant in your throat for your throat to feel as though it is completely closing . . . pushing air from the diaphram will open your airway. Maybe some of you who have a nursing background can tell us more about this. I believe some of the children have vegas nerve

problems too. Rogene

Patty,

I noticed choking and swallowing problems after implants. I wondered if that too was related and yes I think so. I also could not breath, so hard to swallow and not breath out my nose. The sinus were so bad I think when I went to eat food, I could not swallow without choking because I could not breath? I don't know just one of those symptoms from BA, since getting them removed I have noticed it is better.

Rogene,

Well I'm not a nurse but I know the Vegas nerve has something to do with your esophagus. I've been having extreme heartburn and the doctor has had me take an Ativan to help relax the nerve. Also when Dr. Kolb pulled out my drains 3 weeks after surgery I got very light headed and nauseous. She said that it had to do with the Vegas nerve. I'm not sure if that is the correct spelling either.

It's been a long time . . . but what I remember is that leaking silicone gel implants may cause damage to that nerve. . . I wish I could remember more details . . . Maybe Lynda remembers . . .. Or Ilena? I have gotten much, much better that I used to be . . . but I do still have episodes when I cough, choke or gag for no apparent reason. I had the body odor mostly out of my right armpit too. Yes, Dr. Kolb said you can tell you are infected if you have bad body odor from armpit. That is a symptom. I can't wait til you get them out .

: You're not the only one--I also had a back surgery (microdiscectomy) I didn't need, too, as doctors thought it was sciatica as I had a bad disc. After it didn't work, they tried to tell me it was the nerves just acting up. I had other symptoms too but the doctors thought they were unrelated. Looking back, I wish I'd figured it out for myself sooner, but I never thought breast implants could be the cause those kinds of symptoms. I wish I could remember in numbers the women who have had back surgery after getting implants. There have been quite a few....and none of them got relief from surgery. (How could they, when the problem was still there????) It's such a shame. Doctors are so quick to cut on people before exploring other options. I know my husband was headed for surgery on his back when we discovered the kidney cleanse, liver flush and coffee enemas. He had had all kinds of therapy for back pain, to no avail. But once he did some detoxiing and cleaned up his diet, his back problems were cured! It was incredible! He became a believer in alternative and natural medicine for healing through this experience. His life was changed! I'm sorry that you girls went through the unnecessary surgery that you did....my hope is that through your testimonies and the help of all the other women in

the implant issue, we can help women find the assistance they need to make wise decisions before they get on that medical merry go round. Healing is in your future now though! Getting the implants out will make a huge difference for the good, and that is my hope for you all. My name is Sandy and glad I am not alone

My implants were in for two years...

Are there any physicians in Bucks County,Pennsylvania like Dr.Kolb?

Could I be the only one with breast implant rejection in my city?

I feel the doctors and my plastic surgeon treat me like I am a hypochondriac

I know this is not in my head as the doctors ordered me to take zanax... I never did though !

Their conclusion to my symptoms is that I am anxious and worried over nothing.

I had a crawly feeling in my knees when the implants were implanted

I still cannot bend my legs at full range because of the agony in my knees.

ISoon after implantation my buttocks went completely numb.

I am wondering if something during implantation may have effected a nerve in my body.

My skin is also wrinkled on my legs and in some areas my skin is actually sunk in.

I also have a coughing spells and cannot breath through my nose.

I still look like I am pregnant.

I understand about detoxing our bodies.

Presently I am taking magnesium, vitamin b 12 and eating fresh vegetables and fruits.

and have ordered primal defense thanks to a woman named Lee that I met from your group.

I am a single mom and to weak and sick to travel to another state.

Is there anything else like antibiotics that may have helped other woman whose bodies rejected saline implants ??

I felt so all alone until I stumbled onto this site.

Through detoxing my body I am hoping that I will be able to bend my legs again.

I welcome all your suggestions and symptoms as my list is very long,

God Bless,

Sandy

Hi Sandy, Welcome to . . . You're in for an education, so be patient and try to absorb a little at a time . . . Women who have had breast implants have a host of strange symptoms that the majority of medical doctors aren't up to understanding or treating . . . it's so much easier to say it's "your problem"! . . . Trying to get diagnoses for all these things is futile! . . . The main thing to concentrate on is on eliminating toxic substances from your environment, giving your body the nutrients it needs to repair itself, and purging the toxins already there . . . That's of course, in conjunction with getting your implants removed properly . . . "En bloc" is the preferred method. The capsules that have grown around your implants are removed with the implants still inside to avoid spilling contaminants into your chest cavity. A capsulectomy - where the entire capsule is completely removed is

the minimum requirement - along with drains to prevent a build up of potentially contaminated fluids. Dr. Kolb is a one-of -a-kind. If you can go to her, you'll be well taken care of in every aspect. She's the only plastic surgeon who is really serious about detoxing. You work with naturopathic doctors on detoxing, or even do it on your own. You'll have to learn by trial and error though. The ladies here are very well informed and want to help everyone affected by implants get well - and stop the marketing of implants if possible. Too many women and their unborn children have been affected for us to see a positive side to implants any more. Please check the archives carefully, and ask any question that comes to mind. Nothing is too trivial. We care! . . . The good news is that you have an excellent chance of getting your health back. The bad

news is that it's going to take time and dedication to get there - but the trip is well worth the effort! Hugs and prayers, Rogene

Sandy,

I am glad you found your way here. There are many wonderful ladies

who can support you thru this.

The best thing you can do is get them out.

All I can tell you is that I took a short round of prednisone (5

days) about 2 weeks ago and it seems to have made all the difference

in the world for me. I had sworn off prednisone and had not taken

any for well over a year. But the short round of it seems to have

been enough to minimize the immune reactions that I was having. I

do not know if this will work for you. Prior to taking it I was

bloated and also looked somewhat pregnant, skin rash and a lot of

joint pain.

I get mine taken out ...this week...and can not wait. In the

meantime, I took the prednisone because I was so miserable.

The way I understand it from my dermatologist and other doctors, is

that once your bodys' immune system is over reacting to this extent,

your body can not calm it down without help. Hence, the

prednisone.

It definitely sounds like you have an immune reaction going on.

Others here can help you with the doctors in PA. Have you looked at

the recommended Doctor list yet?

If you can not travel outside your area, please learn all you can

about the way they need to be taken out...enbloc, with

drains...etc. Become familiar with the different types of lifes.

You may or may not need one. Some don't need them. You may not

since yours have not been in that long.

A good surgeon who has explanted a lot of woman who is honest can

work too. Do NOT go to a cosmetic plastic surgeon. Rather a breast

reconstruction specialist is who you want. You can look up their

credentials on the American Medical Association website..or other

websites for your state that will give you idea how long they have

been in practice, if they are board certified....etc.

Hang in there,

Sandy,

I live in New Jersey, about an hour from Bucks County. Cherie, who

is also part of our group, is from Philadelphia. While I did travel

to Cleveland, OH, to have Dr. Feng remove my implants, Cherie was

able to find a doctor in the Philly area to help her. In addition

to this post, I will e-mail Cherie privately and ask her to look at

this post and respond to your, perhaps you could use her doctor. I

got sick immediately after getting implants, too, and I only had

mine for six months and had them explanted. Detoxing will only take

you so far as long as the implants are still in your body.
