Guest guest
I forgot who was asking about the sign. My state regulations say " A deaf child sign MAY be placed near a residence or school where deaf children are " something like that. But it also says the Local Jurisdication has the say so. Ours did not. Contact your city hall, ask for traffic and streets, and tell them you want the sign. You might have to go to the local paper (I made the LA Times, ha ha) to put some pressure on them. See if you can make a contact on the city council. By the way I didnt get my sign. SInce I work for the govt also, I know exactly what the city traffic engineers did....they did everything to make their case to NOT put up a sign. False sense of security A proliferation of warning signs will make the deaf child son unnoticeable. You just want other people to watch out for your child ... you dont want to take responsibility (this by the female mayor of the city). The signs have no impact on traffic behaviour its the residents who speed, not people who dont live on your street. If you can counter each of the above comments - because you will get similar ones from your city, if they are pains. By the way, I am in forward thinking, family and child friendly, Calif.
