Penni,

Not everyone who reacts to implants reacts to the silicone in them, it could

be that your body refused your implants because they were foreign objects,

causing auto-immune issues.

Or it could be any one of the toxic metals or other chemicals in the

shell or the implant.

Penni, With two negative tests, you should be OK . . . As the last ingredient on the list, it should be a very small amount. However, you might ask the pharmacist if he can recommend an equivalent medication without silicone dioxide. RogenePenni Pitre <penniquilts@...> wrote: Ladies, Went to the alternative medicine

Kenda,

Oh, I agree for sure. Got my report back from Dr. Blais and mine were full of bacteria and the filling tubes had a gross amount of bacteria as he worded it. They have so many chemicals in the shell alone seems like to me anyone would have to be sensitive to at least one.

  • 1 year later...

I attempted to address this issue some years ago. I called up some of the vitamin companies and asked them about the contents of their products. I was surprised to find out that some of these have silicone dioxide in them and it was not even listed on the product label... One person told me that silicone dioxide and silicone are not the same thing. Not having enough of an educational background in this, I didn't get very far in my quest to address this...

I don't understand a fraction of what I've been told about the silica/silicon/silicone/silcone dioxide (and other "...cones") . . . but, for me, the proof is that women/kids who have had chronic problems sometimes have an abrupt turn towards good health once they get these chemicals out of their system. Lana has done a huge amount of research to help her sons.

As I understand it, Silicone dioxide is not needed as an active ingredient. It's used as a filler because it's cheap. . . Sometimes you can find the same product in powder form without silicone dioxide in it.

I would hope all companies are more conscientious about listing everything in supplements now. They finally understand some people are very allergic to minute amounts of certain things . . . examples are gluten and peanuts.

However, if we knew all the chemicals that come in contact with our food, we'd probably buy our own farm and happily do all the work. . .

Rogene,

I have found some of my supplements without silicone dioxide in them.

I bought a few of those to replace the others. I haven't replaced

them all because it is expensive to start over. I don't think they

need to put these in supplements or pills. As you say it is cheap.
