I joined this group way back when I was having horrible pain from fibro, and nothing was working. I was anxiously awaiting Savella to come available to the American public. When I finally was able to get to try Savella I was SO excited!!! I refused to go on narcotics because of my job needing to use a clear mind, so I chose to wait. I tried Lyrica, Cymbalta, and other natural methods without much help. It took about 5 or 6 days to feel significant relief from Savella. After 9 days, I didn't have a clue I had fibromyalgia. I worked with horses, tossed a lot of hay and bags of grain. Strong as an ox, but the pain made me very calculated about what I was doing and how long I had to do it in. Took me 1/2 and hour to unload 5 bales of hay or 5 bags of grain. After Savella, 10 minutes to unload a full truck of hay and stack it. That is about 35 bales. I could go on an on about what I can do since Savella. I'd rather do this without drugs, but this works great for me. The only side effect I have is constipation, and I deal with it. I wish everyone could be as lucky as I have been to find something that works perfectly for them as Savella does for me!!!!
Guest guest
Hey Vicki, I too have fibro. I have been on Savella in the past. It is a truly great medicine. It took every ounce of pain away and it can make a person feel sane and whole again. lol I am on lyrica and tramadol. I too live in USA. Lyrica was $30, Cymbalta was $30 and Savella was $30 for me. Then the cost of the other meds I was on at the time made it too hard to pay for. So, I did my on test to see which one I could live without and I chose Savella first and then Cymbalta. But I slowly weaned myself, I didn't do it all at once. Then I weaned off of the others. I didn't work at that time so I could do this. If I had worked I probably wouldn't have. And what I am about to say is what worked for me and what I chose to do. My lyrica is prescribed as 450 mgs a day. My tramadol is prescribed as 50 mgs 4x's a day. I really worry about what these are doing to my insides and my brain. And I still have severe brain fog. (I couldn't tell you where anything in my home is,lol) Way before I found this site a friend told my that he believed fibro could be reversed. That got my attention. he told me to go out and buy some vitamins that he listed and I did that evening. This was in October 2 years ago. The following month I could not believe the difference I felt. As if I never had fibro. Then on Nov. 5th, Social Services, through the request of a family member, brought an 8 week old baby girl to our home to take care of. I could have never done this without those vitamins. She is 15 months old now and still stays with us 15 to 20 days a month. (The mom stills rather do her druggy thing). I now take 50 to maybe 200 mg of lyrica and only 2 tramadols a day. I really want to follow these diets and I do take all the supplements on Bee's website that she mentions. I just can't do the diet right now. And I have the fear of re-tracing all illnesses. I don't want to feel all that pain again. But as for you, I am very glad you have relief from all that pain. It is very, very nice to be pain free and have your mind too. Take care!!!!!
