Guest guest
Season Greetings All I pray everyone didn't overdo it for Christmas. Its been awhile since I posted. Guess what I got for Christmas? A few large bald spots. Here's my story. Before surgery I had my hair braided with braided extensions added. Well, the doc shaved some of them and they were left to hang and fall off. I handled that pretty good. The day before my post of appt. I decided I wanted a change. So my girlfriend and I took my braids down and out. I had some hair loss. No big deal I thought. Hair sheds anyway. But I did notice I shedded more than the norm, but I was bound and determined to change my hair. (Scalp on the left side is still numb) We colored, permed and weaved hair with my natural hair. (The end result was just right). It looked very natural. To make a long story short. Christmas night I decided I wanted the weave hair out because I wanted to have my hair cut in to a short low maintanence style to start my year off fresh and new. so I took the weave out, washed my hair and wanted to see how it looked in the back. I got a hand mirror to see (OH did I see!!!)how much hair had come out. My hair came out in patches were it is still numb on the left side. My right side is okay. Some hair loss which a tapered cut would fix right away. I screamed for my husband ( he thought I had fell and hurt myself) I did fall to my knees in tears. He came running and he saw the back of my head. I think he cried harder than I did. Anyway the only explanation I can come up with is that due to the numbness of my scalp my nerves are shot for the time being so I have not been getting any stimulation to the scalp and it caused the hair loss. Do anyone have any answers for this one? First thing tomorrow I'm going to buy me a wig with a short style until my hair grows back. Trying to keep a smile. Its hard when I look in the mirror. All I asked for was a peace of mind and a healed body. Santa if you're on-line how can you do a sista' like this???? Was I that bad this year???? Thanks for letting me get this out...So depressed ( Have a Blessed Week
Guest guest
Tracey don't feel alone girl, I had two surgeries five weeks apart and my hair was shaved the whole back side of my head. As if this is not enough my hair feel out so much that there is a big patch of hair missing on the top of my head. Then due to the damaged follicles when I had the staph infection, I now have a permanent half dollar size of a bald spot where hair will never grow... I have been pretty depressed about the whole thing. Hugs Robin Whitehurst wrote: Season Greetings All I pray everyone didn't overdo it for Christmas. Its been awhile since I posted.
