Guest guest
The reason I asked is because I'm pretty sure that's what my PT used on me. He didn't call it that but when he explained what he was doing it was to alleviate pressure off the affected nerves. I don't have pinched nerves but I have nerve damage. He would sorta massage and apply hard pressure pushing at the same time. It was very affective in loosening me up so I would have more mobility. Like I said he didn't call it the mckenzie approach but he didn't call it anything. Thank you for the information, Carol (OK) ----- Original Message ---- From what I understand, the Mckenzie technique is when the physical therapist uses certain exercises and positions to try to alleviate pressure off the affected nerve root (where there is a " pinched nerve " ). This should reduce the radiating pain that I have down my leg and isolate it to my back. There have been controversies about the effectiveness of this technique.
