Guest guest
You will need a driver because of the sedation. It is just a safety factor having a driver to take you home. That medicine that they use may stay in your body for the rest of the day you may feel alert but you reflexes will be slow. My two cents here. Good luck with your testing . Guest guest
BTW You will not be so sedated that you will not remember that test for I remember all off it. They put something in my throat so that I would not gag!! If it was not for that I would gag big time!!! Guest guest
Wow. I've had about 14 of 'em, a couple years pre-op, because I had ulcers. Don't remember a single thing! Does this mean I'm easy? Guest guest
And when I had mine, I was completely awake. I even kept trying to look at the screen, but the doc wouldn't cooperate. For some reason, he thought that HE needed to see the screen. lol. He must not have given me enough Versed or something, because it's always worked really well on me before. Even being awake, the scope was no big deal. The worst part was that my body kept trying to vomit the thing back up, but it didn't hurt at all, wasn't even really uncomfortable, it was just annoying. ------------------------------------------------ Terry Mayers 5DollarHosting.com http://www.5dollarhosting.com (877)-838-HOST / .... because it shouldn't cost a fortune to make a fortune! Guest guest
I was never asleep during any of my scopes.. I think the worse part for me is the sore throat afterwards.. I am allergic to the local anesthetic ,that I hear tastes really nasty , that is used to anesthetize your throat as you swallow the tubing. I also tried to watch the screen, but like Terry, the doctors seem to think they need to see that tv screen more than we do. A scope is a pretty much non event... you get sedated, stay drowsy for most of the day, and forget about it by the next day. Guest guest
LOL I guess that it depends on the doctor and the anesthesia that they use! I had one done in December in preperation for my surgery and I do remember it all! When it was all over thought I fell asleep!!
