Lancets (for getting BGs) are re-usable. Syringes for insulin injection or

needle tips for pens shouldn't be re-used.. Vicki

why? I use my insulin pen needles until I refill my cartridge.

For my UL I empty the N cartridge, then fill it with the UL. I use one for H

too. I always used the insulin syringes at least 5 or 6 times, never a

problem, when it started feeling a little dull, then I changed it.

Sometimes I do have to change the UL pen needle sooner than other times, but

only because the crystals from the UL clog it. I normally use it for about 5

days or so.

The H needle lasts almost a month as I hardly use more than 10 units a day. I

dump it after a month as it is out all that time. the rest is refrigerated

and it lasts a long time, I found it to be good after several months.

My pens are the novo 3.

Yes, what I meant was that I reuse the lancets for bg readings. I do not

reuse my pen needle tips. I guess I should have said that in a better

way. Sorry!
