Vicki >> why? I use my insulin pen needles until I refill my cartridge. For my UL I empty the N cartridge, then fill it with the UL. I use one for H too. I always used the insulin syringes at least 5 or 6 times, never a problem, when it started feeling a little dull, then I changed it. Sometimes I do have to change the UL pen needle sooner than other times, but only because the crystals from the UL clog it. I normally use it for about 5 days or so. The H needle lasts almost a month as I hardly use more than 10 units a day. I dump it after a month as it is out all that time. the rest is refrigerated and it lasts a long time, I found it to be good after several months.
