Subject: Bone Broth Allergy?

I seem to be having an allergic reaction to bone broth. The last two

times I have eaten it I had a reaction. One was chicken, one was beef.

There are other possible suspects, but I am afraid to try again.

Anyone else have this problem or heard of it? Any thoughts?

Yes. It starts within 10 minutes of eating it.

I have pain around the bottom of my neck and under my jaw and bottom of

my head. A bit of a headache. I feel a little puffy and a little

difficult breathing. It's almost completely gone now, thank goodness.

Last time I was more puffy and my blood pressure seemed to go up. And I

got very sleepy. I had eaten more of it last time.

This used to happen a lot, but I have eliminated most of the foods that

caused it. I have suspected the broth a few times in the past. I am

still unclear on the glutamate thing with the broth. I do not tolerate

MSG well (not nearly as bad as some people, but bad enough to avoid it).

A little over a year ago my reactions started getting really bad, and I

had a very hard time figuring out what to avoid. Some things seemed

pretty obvious, but some were not. And, I can't be sure about each thing

because I did not do an elimination diet.

Hi Sandi

Do you live in the states? I went to a homepathic doctor in San Francisco and

she ordered a sensitivity test. The insurance would not pay but I felt like with

all the co pays and terrible invasive tests the reg doctors were putting me

through I was happy to pay. It was a blood test and so many things came up like

wheat, cows milk, yeast, brewers yeast, four types of beans, squash, cumin and

many others I keep the list in my purse. It might be something to look into if

you can afford.

I do eat grass fed butter but I wont drink reg milk.

The side effects that you are having sound bad anytime you have pain in the back

of you neck and head I was told it was your brain.

How are you feeling now?

Ciao-

Ange

I feel fine now. Thanks!

I woke up stiff and a little puffy-eyed, which is common for me when I

eat things I shouldn't. Sometimes I'm very stiff.
