Hello Colleen:

I have been hiding lately but I had

a friend who faced a judge as well

to prove his case.

It is a great idea to have a attorney on

your side however get one that deals only

with SS Benefits and knows the process.

Be careful of how you answer the questions

and make sure to think quick about the way

you answer your questions.

Let the judge know how difficult it is for you

to do normal activities and do not give them a

hint that you are not telling the truth.

Give him all the records because he will not only

go by what you or a attorney says without proof

of your condition/conditions.

Take Care

Carl

hi everyone,

I disagree with their decision and need to go in front of a judge now.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to go about doing this?

Hi, there is a Yahoo group, think they're called " Disinissues " or

" Disissues " , do a search and you should find them. They do no emotional

support but exist for answering brass tacks questions about Social

Security Disability Insurance. There are Social Security attorneys in

the group who are most helpful.

I was scheduled to go in front of a judge, but it didn't make sense; I

live half an hour from one court, and they had me scheduled to drive

three hours to another court. I called and they told me they would

reschedule me, but miracle of miracles, I got a letter from the judge

affirming my disability, so I never had to actually appear in front

of the judge.

Everyone says you need an attorney. I didn't get one and still

eventually got approved. Anyhow, check out that group: they were a

godsend to me.

because I got it last year and then of course they change the law that next

year for taxes I won't be taxed on it, go figure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I got a big check also and it was not

deemed taxable because it was a compensitory payment.

I don't know H & R Block did the taxes so I don't know how to question it.

I hate to be paying taxes that we shouldn't be.

Collen,

Make sure you ask them why they denied you so can address those issues,

both with medical and factual statements. Beat them at their own game.

Documentation and facts, they will get you your SSI. You have the

back of others that have been there before. Bennie
