Lea and everyone,

Thank you. I passed this info along to my friend. I would hate to see

her get these implants, because she is so healthy, beautiful, vibrant

and wonderful. I'd hate to see even a bit of that erode.

Anyway, is there an easy way to scratch up that long article online?

If not, I'll be happy to dig around for it.

Thanks!

Naw, he told her she would be part of a study.

I said that it meant that the implant company would be using her body as

a guinea pig. She was seriously info-gathering and willing to hear

about it.

I don't know how it will turn out, but she has already paid her money,

which makes it tough to back out of, especially when it is easy to view

my problems as something that may not happen to her. I invited her to

join the forum.

Thank you for all the replies that I have gotten. I did fwd them to her.

Well, thanks for asking. I sent her information, including some

wonderful posts from this forum (thank you to everybody!).

I'd like to think what I sent was helpful-enough, scientific-enough,

thoughtful-enough, just-plain-enough to help her get some awareness and

save herself and back out of the surgery.

I sent her research I did on surgeons who will do just a lift without

implants (there are plenty out there!), including before-and-after

photos, diagramatic descriptions of how the lift is done, etc.... She

has GREAT tissue for a lift only -- she could probably be lifted and be

a C cup, which sounds like a no-brainer to me, as I am a AA.

I also sent information on the implants, the FDA games, and silicone

sickness, including some personal accounts from people here, not to

mention explantation.com.

I didn't hear one thing back from her. I assume she is going to go

ahead anyway. They have been out of town a lot. I plan on asking her

what is up when I next see her without husband or kids.

There is a line between being helpful and being so invested that one is

co-dependent ( and that is one of my toxic issues) and I have to be

careful where I stand emotionally in this instance. I am already

anticipating having to get a grip on my emotions when she comes back

from guinea pig surgery. Like so many of us, she may not get the big

picture until the big picture has harmed her. I pray this is not the

case for her.

Before I got sick from my implants (they were in one year, and I seemed

to have a real inflammatory kind of reaction that has reduced quite well

so far) I had plans to go to graduate school for Traditional Chinese

Medicine and Acupuncture. I am feeling so good already that I plan on

entering the program next May.

Sadly, I'm counting this as good practice for me to not do the whole

co-dependent thing. I know I am going to have patients who blow off my

insight as well, or come across people I KNOW I could successfully help

treat who won't help themselves.

Sounds great about your future education plans! I would have loved to been a doctor, but I don't think I could have handled the politics. Dawnsusan <dawnsusan@...> wrote: Well, thanks for asking. Wow..you go girl! You are so lucky that you only had them for a year...and got smart and had them removed! That is awesome that you are feeling so much better. You sound really educated and excited to learn. I know that you will be good at helping lots of people, Congratulations on planning to enter program! Maybe I will come and see you, to get better! :o)
