One thing I find curious is how many of our kids have ADD/HDD/ODD. To me it seems like it's a pretty high amount. ------ We upped Tom's ritalin dose last week and he's been showing good results. Much better focus, less daydreamy - I'm hopeful that this will help him. We had a meeting with his teacher and the school principal last week also (my husband and I always attend meetings together about our boys). His teacher and we agreed that if he doesn't get work done in school, he will have homework (he's in first grade). Well.... we got to test it out on Friday (gee, only one day later!). He had the hated " alphabet and poems " and did NOTHING. When I asked him what he was doing during school when he was supposed to be doing alphabet and poems, he said " I was having a little chat with Ian! " . Of course I had to turn away to NOT laugh. But I made it clear that he was doing it at home. He was in complete and utter denial at first, after much fussing, he finally realized I was serious, and did it. And guess what - he did all his work today in school! His teacher is wonderful - the best. He is repeating first grade next year - something we feel very good about - and he won't have her. Good and bad, but I've come to appreciate her so much.... So we're on the upswing, at least this week.... But everyday is NOT the same! Thanks for letting me air!
