Those who suggest not combining usually also list the exceptions of apple and carrot which they say are fine to combine. (Many people who juice regularly find that apples and carrots are the only 'crossovers' that blend well, flavorwise, anyway! ) There are evidently different digestive juices involved in fruits than in vegetables.
