This is a happening similar to that termed " Shaken baby syndrome " in which the brain is injured and bleeds at the reaction when it bounces around in the skull when someone tosses it into the air or shakes it. That's why it is dangerous to play with babies by tossing them up and then catching them as some people do. Ditto for roller coasters. any sudden, jarring motion involving the head can be dangerous. People can become permanenntly mentally retarded as a result, suffer seizures, be enotionally unstable, etc., depending upon which part of the brain is injured.
