Guest guest
, It's so hard for most of us to afford EXplanting, that I DEFINITELY wouldn't reimplant unless you have an endless supply of money to explant right away if changing out your implants doesn't make you feel any better. I know some doctors say that changing them out can help if you're leaking mold or have fungus inside, but for many it's the actual silicone shell... so changing them out wouldn't really help. Not to mention, if it doesn't make you feel better to change them out -what disease is next to indicate the implants are still a problem? Most people have fatigue and joint pain that ease up with explant, but some have epilepsy, neuro diseases, bladder disease, thyroid disease, Lupus, and/or MS. These are permanent illnesses that won't necessarily go away with explant -or which will take a lot of time, money, and dedication to rid if they can be rid at all. To get reimplanted would be to play games with your health ---huge risk. I know it's hard to remove implants, because most of us obviously had issues with our breasts to begin with. Some of us love the way they look. It makes it difficult to have them explanted without a paper in your hand saying "YES. These are 100% the scientific cause of your ailments and illness." It makes you have that little part in your head that is in denial. So, at least get them out and give your body time to tell you if that's what was happening or not before you'd consider reimplanting. The others may be able to give you a good waiting period ---6 months? 12 months? 18 months? At least give your body that time to see if it's going to heal if you need that reassurance that the implants were a culprit. It sounds like you already know they are. Best of luck to you with your explant!!! Brigite
Guest guest
I know lots of women who got reimplanted ... some several times, and all have told me it was the worst decisions they ever made. Guest guest
, I suspect that Dr. Kolb tells any woman who is distressed about being flat that she can replace her implants .. . She certainly is upfront about the issues you will face. Dr.Kolb replaced hers, and continues to function. However, you need to ask yourself if it's worth constantly worrying over your health . . . if you can afford the kind of medical care you will likely need . . . and for how long. For myself, there's NO WAY, I've ever regretted having my implants out . . or wished that I had replace them. Guest guest
Ladies, I wouldn't even think about being reimplanted. Besides I LOVE my new prosthesis. I was fitted by a certified prosthesis fitter at Nordstrom's. They are made by amoena. You can look at their website at www.amoena.com The saleslady measured me and now I am a beautiful 36C. She did all the insurance paperwork and sent it into Cigna for me including the bras. I bought 3 bras made by amoena so they hold the prosthesis securely. Everyone that has seen me (that knows) says I look great and you can't even tell. I bought the prosthesis that have the cold pads in them so I keep the pads in the refrigerator and than they Velcro into the prosthesis when I'm ready to wear them. They are PERFECT for the heat as it was 116 here today. I know they didn't have the kind of prosthesis in 1989 that they do now. If I had been told the truth about implants back in 1989 I never would have had them put in after having cancer that's for sure. You couldn't pay me to have implants again!!!! Guest guest
I was seven years after silicone. I had them for 7 years. I have had these for seven years and have not had near as many health issues with saline. I am sure it is a matter of time although I know one person who has had the same saline for 15 years with no problems.- -- In , GMCLADY98@... wrote: > > DR Kolb told me even with all my illness that I could reimplant....that I'd > have to be very careful ...and I guess I'd have to be on lots of meds to get > well before I did this...WHICH I WOULDN " T NOT EVER...but I was wondoring have > any of you done that or thought about it or new anyone that did and did they > get sick again ? Guest guest
, I didn't know you have gone through so much already. Why did you need so many surgeries? Is there an archived message I could read about your story? I can't wait for my surgery next Wednesday. I am as excited as a kid at Christmas! I want my health back - I'm 58 and feel like 95 some days! My Mom is 88 and can outwalk me when we're in the mall. Guest guest
, There is not enough money in the world to make me even consider for a moment putting implants back in. My natural tissue filled back in just fine and I am DD without the implants of course I am not skinny either I have put on weight. I just had a routine Mammogram 1 year post explant. I got a letter yesterday saying they need to do ultrasound on the right breast, Here we go again, I thought I was on the home stretch. I am trying not to worry and hope it is nothing. God knows the last ten years have been a nightmare I hope and pray that I don;t have to have another surgery . My breasts are perfect just as they are. I don't know what was seen on the mammogram to make them want to see me again. any ideas out there ladies? Guest guest
, There's no way of knowing until they redo your mammogram . . .there's a good chance it's scar tissue from your surgeries . . . If they see anything this time, they'll do a sonogram - probably right away. I just went through a round of breast cancer . . . it was caught early and, other than being a huge nusiance, not a big event. Keeping careful watch is very important! . . . If one had to assign a stage to my cancer it was a stage 1/2, , , It was caught with a mammogram. I hope this isn't what you're facing . . . but if it is, when you get to it early, it's not too bad. Guest guest
Thanks Rogene, That does make me feel better. It was puzzling because my left breast did not have the capsular contraction. My right did. The left envelope was almost completely flat when it was removed. The saline had completey leaked out . There was no tear so I guess they call that a bleed. I don't see how it looks like it got out through some other way.
