Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have been on the list for sometime now, and have gotten some great opinions and ideas from everyone. I regret that I have not been able to share any ideas thus far, and will try to make more time in the future. My name is and I have a HOH son, Devin, who is 6 (soon to be 7). He has a bilateral sensorineural loss, most likely from ototoxic drugs given in the NICU after he was born 2 months premature, weighing only 1 Lb. 13 oz. I just wanted to get things going so that I can help others as much as you all have helped me in the last few months....Right now, I am having a slight problem with the school finding substitute interpreters for Devin when his is absent. He is fully mainstreamed in 1st grade with a full-time interpreter, and uses an auditory trainer in the class. If anyone has had this problem, or has any ideas, I would appreciate any info you have. Also, I wanted to see if anyone lives in Arkansas around Fayetteville or Springdale, or knows what kind of programs they have there for deaf children, and at the colleges there for parents. Again, thanks for much for the support )
