Guest guest
Terri, Omg-there is NO WAY I can go for that long without working! My husband and I live paycheck to paycheck as it is! I'll email Dr. Melmed-I can't even afford anymore long distance phone calls right now! Guest guest
leyna, Working as a cashier is hard physical work with too much motion of the upper body and arms! Too soon to go back. I've gone back to work too soon a couple of times in my life, being a nurse, and being 'needed' and usually needing the money myself! but it doesn't pay--literally! Guest guest
Leyna, I certainly could have done this after two weeks, but I would think after three you could at least work half time if you needed to. Guest guest
, Well, Dr. Melmed gave the Ok....but to take it easy as much as possible and not to lift stuff that hurts. My boss said he has me scheduled for tomorrow thru Saturday, but if I feel like I need more time off, to let him know because there are a lot of girls who are begging to get the hours I have. I wish he had started me back on a slower day though-Tuesdays are our busiest day! Guest guest
Molly, Oh, trust me, I am. My manager said that it will be no problem if I feel like it is too soon to come back-he said that some of the other employees can pick up a few of my days if I feel like it, and then he can just schedule me part time the next week. I'm hoping it won't be TOO bad though-I went back to work 3 weeks after a complete abdominal hysterectomy, and this surgery isn't as bad-just in a different part of the body. With us, it's a matter of not being able to eat or pay my bills if I don't go back now..... Not just a matter of "needing" to take more time off-it's a matter of "having" to go back now-no other choice. Wish things were different for us, but I don't see it ever happening.Molly Bloom <mollyb54@...> wrote: It does seem awfully soon.Maybe just see how it goes and then if it is too much, tell your boss you just can't work yet after all?I know what it is like to feel pinched financially. I think so many of us do. I left a career to go to school in my 40s, expecting to make up the difference when I graduated. But then I was too sick to work! And I had huge student loans. It was very depressing. Fortunately, things improved - our luck changed a bit and my health improved. I am only working part time still, but at least we are not drowning. There is nothing more important than health. If you need time to recover, it may be better int he long run. What you don't need are more complications from doing too much too soon.So play it by ear..> leyna,> > Working as a cashier is hard physical work with too much motion of the > upper body and arms!
