I am looking for a detox doc, who might be convenient to Washington, DC. Referrals are appreciated. JeanneKenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: Yes, you are reacting to the yeast being killed off. Kenda's Dr. helped some of us, I know Cherie has done quite well

with him. His name is Dr. Leu, he's in Arkansas and does phone

consults - orders bloodwork, etc. Kenda can probably give you his

number, but I know if you search him on the internet you'll find him.

Hi Rogene,

Welcome back.....oops, I knew he was in Oklahoma, Lord knows why I

typed Arkansas, but thanks for catching that. We're hosting what I'm

calling " Our Big Fat Italian Graduation Party " tomorrow and I've been

working on this party for months, but this past week has been crunch

time.

I started taking Ceftin prescribed by the Lyme doctor, and wow did I

feel horrible. My toes and fingers started hurting, and I was feeling

like I felt when I had implants. I switched to Doxycycline and that's

much better. My naturpath said it's possible it was die off or a

herx, but I got scared because I took that same medicine twice

(actually at least in the same family, I took Keflex) and the second

time I took it (after explant) my head seemed to weigh about 100 lbs.

Sis, I hope you're feeling better with the change in antibiotics! . . . There are times when is really difficult to tell a herx from a reaction . . . Changing meds was a smart move! I can't tell you how thrilled I am when I see you're back among the living! . . . I remember when you were sooooooooo sick! It's going to be a lot easier getting through this! Hugs and prayers, Rogene .

Rogene,

It dawned on me when I took the medicine and my symptoms got bad

again how far I really have come since explant in November,

especially since I've been taking a probiotic. My fingers and toes

started aching all over again, and I had a nagging feeling that I

should not take this medicine - the same kind of feeling I had for

the last few days before I got implants - something screaming

out " don't do this " . The real test is going to be when it gets cold

again, because my joint swelling was really bad over the winter.

We had a huge party for my stepdaughter yesterday, over 100 people

(yes, she's a bit spoiled!) and I was truly the hostess with the

mostess - I thought about how well I was keeping up with the very

fast pace of serving the food, greeting the guests, running back and

forth from the tent to the house all day long (I wear a pedometer

and clocked 30,000 steps yesterday) making sure everything was

running smoothly, and managing to take pictures of just about

everyone there. People were commenting on how I was able to juggle

so much at one time, and I thought " if only they knew that a year

ago I was falling apart " . I am thankful to be one of the lucky ones

who has great doctors who listen to me, and do not tell me " it's not

the implants " . I went to a few specialists who did that, but

honestly I've been so lucky to have my regular doctors thinking that

maybe it's possible.

After a week off to prepare for this party, I am looking forward to

going back to work. I actually miss it there, I think as you said,

I am among the living now, and when I was out of work I felt so

isolated. I enjoy being with people and learning my new job.

Sis . . . Congradulations on pulling off such a big party! . . . Wow! you have made huge strides! I bet your hubby was one thrilled man . . to see you doing so well, as well as watching his daughter grow up! I remember when he was giving you a bad time over getting your implants out! I hope you realize that you're providing the encouragement that many women who come here for the first time need so badly! . . . Thanks so much for sticking around after you started getting so much better! . . . . Please do continue with probiotics though . . . even if it's a very low dose . . . then gradually up it as long as the herxes aren't bad. . . I suspect that you're much like Kathy . . . She had a hard time detoxing too. Look at it as sending soldiers in to clean out the enemy . . .the herxes are the battles they're fighting! . . . Working on things that help flush the liver (Milk

thistle for one), could help. Be sure and stay with a very good diet too! . . . It can be really tough when you're really busy! . . . Love, Rogene

Rogene,

Thanks. I couldn't abandon the site that helped me find my way out

of the mess implants got me into, and I wanted to give back. It's

definitely tough to eat healthy working the kind of hours I work - I

don't do as good as I should, but I'm careful to avoid sugar and

processed foods (I noticed when I had some cake at the party, my

heart started racing). The probiotics are actually one thing I

didn't herx to, I started out very slowly on them and worked my way

up. The antibiotics are what brought my symptoms back on, and right

away! However, I unfortunately have to take them because of the

tick bite, but at least I switched to another type. I wanted to

take regular old antibiotics after I saw the side effects of the

cyclosporins that were originally prescribed to me, and since they

made me feel crummy right away I didn't want to take the chance.

Sis! . . . I forgot it was the antibiotics that made you feel bad! . . . I was afraid it was the probiotics! . . . And you're right . . . eating right when you're taking antibiotics is terribly important! . . . The problem is that certain antibiotics are better at targeting specific organisms than others . . . Maybe you need to talk to your doctor about the abx . . You want to be sure the one you're taking will knock out lyme. Love, Rogene
