My reading and research finds it is far better to stay under 140 after meals. I do not believe that after meal spikes will do no harm. I have read that complications can start at 126. Please understand that this is only my 3 year experience in achieving excellent control. We have told him repeatedly about studies showing that the greatest correlation is between TWO-hour postprandials and complications. He ignores us and continues misinforming newbies.
