Guest guest
That is the kind I have too. The pharmacist told me that I could call Accu-Check's 800 number. They give them away for free (or at least they were when I got mine). They don't mine giving it to you free, since you willl be buying the supplies from them. Guest guest
Donna, I'm just curious why you are doing all the finger sticks and injections. Does he ask you to do it all? My husband is also on insulin (T2 since the mid 80's)and by taking charge of his own testing and meds, he feels he has some control over his disease. We each handle our own bg testing. Sometimes he asks my opinion about an insulin dose, but he is responsible for his DM management. I just saw the nurse demonstrate once and then I was on my own. I read some of the tips on diabetes.org for giving shots so they don't sting. When I gave Carey a shot today he said it didn't sting like it had before! I don't think I was thrusting the needle in there fast enough. Guest guest
Dear Donna, I love your attitude! I'm sure you keep Carey amused! The best advice I can suggest re insulin shots and finger-sticking can be found in " Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. " This dude has been a type 1 for over 50 years. He has a medical practice specializing in exquisitely-detailed diabetes counseling, and has reversed most of the complications he accumulated in the first quarter-century of iffy control. He understands about " diabetic feet " too! Susie

I'm pretty good at giving b-12 shots to my mother. > > Re: Sore Fingers > > In a message dated 12/05/2000 3:46:36 PM Pacific Standard Time, > saveadog@... writes: > > << has anyone found anything to help with the > sore fingers? >> > > You do use the ultra thin lancets VS the regular ones don't you?
