Agnes, Hypoglycemia is not helped by sugar. Hypoglycemia is helped and

nuetralized by keeping insulin levels at bay. Which means NO sugar. Also

eating more high protein meals, and more regular meals throughout the day to

maintain those insulin levels at an even keel, not up's and down's. Most

people think low blood sugar...eat more sugar. WRONG! It's the sugar intake

that has caused the insulin to 'overreact' and overwork constantly expecting

high sugar intake. This high insulin production which is what Hypoglicemia

is...knocks down any sugar/glucose levels in our system real fast and hard.

Hence our symptoms, but also can be life threatening for really low blood

sugar drops which is the reason to avoid sugar, even natural fruit sugars

such as juice. Sure, it will alleviate hypo for a short time but then cause

worse symptoms by freaking out our insulin production (pancreas). That's

what happened to that gal that wrote you. She'd apparently been on a good

hypo diet free of sugar and high simple carbs. Then she introduced apple

juice a natural sugar, but sugar non the less and boom! It freaked out her

insulin levels and sent her back into hypo symptoms. Also one quick note,

certain herbs also lower blood sugar and are dangerous for hypo's. I used

Black Cohosh and crashed horribly for two days and realized what was wrong.

I could have gone comotose or died. Be aware of certain herbs with this

ailment, a majority of herbs lower blood sugar levels. Too, hypo is a

precurser to diabetes. Eventually if a hypo does not get control of their

diet and symptoms they can go into full blown diabetes when the pancreas

wears out from producing too much insulin and then quits. Then insulin must

be added, hence diabetes.

Just wanted to let you know about hypo some, and to please not suggest sugar,

natural or otherwise.

:o)
