Guest guest
Hi, Paz, There seems to be disagreement about the amount of magnesium to calcium. Some say it should be one to one; some say 2X the calcium to 1 magnesium. If you're taking 2:1, you could certainly up your magnesium to at least match your calcium, it seems to me, but you might want to do some research online about that. Don't forget you also need Vitamin K2 (preferably MK-7 form) when you take calcium so it can get into the bones. Otherwise, it does nothing but float in your circulatory system. ( Holick says D & Calcium go together... Unless your D levels are optimal .... 50-70 ng mL ... you should be taking D3, too. Sunshine is the best source 10AM-2PM ... 15-20 mins. daily over 3/4 of the body ... If you can't do that, a supplement is really important. Holick wrote THE VITAMIN D SOLUTION. He discovered the circulating form of D in the body.) By the way, some of the best forms of magnesium are orotate, citrate, glycinate and malate. (Citrate is the least expensive, I believe.) > Am I supposed to up the calcium too, and how much? > > > > > > > Hi Joanne, > > > My bowels are not working properly. I am constipated and Vitamin C is not working anymore, so I started to do the 9-day water enemas, but I am having a hard time with the liquid diet. I really dislike it. I wonder if you have done it and I am supposed to eat grounded meat only? or I am supposed to liquify the meat. How do you do that? Please advice. Thank you. > > > Paz > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Paz, By the way, 300-400 mg. is the typical recommendation for magnesium, but Mark Stengler (THE NATURAL PHYSICIAN'S HEALING THERAPIES) says that 500 mg. can be taken if it doesn't cause diarrhea. The glycinate form can be taken up to 750 mg., he also says, and is less likely to have that side effect. PS Not sure if epsom salt baths would help with constipation as I have read that this method is always " easier on the intestines. " PPS People with kidney & heart disease should work with a physician before taking magnesium, also according to Dr. Stengler (all references on p. 321). > Am I supposed to up the calcium too, and how much? > > > > > > > Hi Joanne, > > > My bowels are not working properly.
