Kenda, I'd like more info on the iodine test kit . . . I started using two drops a day about six weeks ago. . . Really do feel that it is helping me noticably with energy levels. . . Of course, I don't want to overdo it. . It's highly unlikely my doctors will work with me on it though! . . . Thanks, Rogene

Rogene,

Dr. Leu is going to Vermont this month and is going to learn more about the

Iodine/Thyroid connection. He is going to bring back test kits from the

seminar, one for me. :) You know I'm a test junkie! I'll let you know what

I find out.

I'm glad you're back and had a great trip!

Hi all,

Rogene and Kendra...I just took this iodine excretion test. The test

kits came from doctors data and the iodine loading was done with 80

drops of Atomidine (600 mcg per drop) My results were that I had

plenty of iodine. (excretion rate of 92%). Darn it! My doctor was

convinced this has been part of my problem Well...obviously it

isn't. I think I need to be on thyroid medication but because my

values fall in the normal range, she has not gotten on board with

it. We did a new thryroid panel to see where the current levels

are. Will get results this coming week. I swear...I want to

practically beg her to put me on something. Last Dec. I had a

mildly enlarged thyroid...etc.

This stuff is frustrating....

Hi ,

I don't know what test my ND is going to give me for Iodine but I'll let you

you know if it is different than the one you took. He is going to a seminar

this month and is doing a lot of research on thyroid/iodine connection.

Hi Rogene, This is a great link, by the outstanding patient advocate, Shomon, who suffers from Hashimoto's. Looks like she got her own link? I see her About.com link still works, too. (http://thyroid.about.com/ ) She has a great newsletter called Sticking Out Our Necks for thyroid sufferers..highly recommended. Thanks! PattyRogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: Here's an
