Pepcid and other stomach medications

Hi Everyone

I mentioned earlier that I take Pepcid, to help avoid

the stomach upset ibuprofen can cause.

Zantac, has some drug interactions, so I find that

it's best to stick with Pepcid.

You will find that Tagament, is the cheapest of the

three but it has a zillion drug interactions. I would

avoid it, especially if you have any kind of mental

health problems.

It pays to spend a little more on Pepcid. Naturally, I

am talking about generics in all of these.

You can also take a few spoonfuls of Maalox when you

take the ibuprofen, to help protect your stomach.

There are a few antiseizure medications that are less

affective, if you take it at the same time. You can

only take it two hours before, or two hours after the

dose.

Maalox, also contains Simethicone. This is the active

ingredient in Gas-X. Maalox is much, much cheaper

than Gas-X if anyone buys that.

Unfortunately, if you need to keep some in your purse,

you will have to be the chewable Maalox. If you need

Simethicone frequently, generic Gas-X is probably

cheaper.

Be careful with Pepto, it contains Salicylic acid,

which is almost the same thing as aspirin. We all know

that you don't want to take more than one NSAID.
