Guest guest
I spoke with someone who works inside the SSDI office . . . He told me that, fair or not, those who hire an attorney who specializes in SSDI claims that get the attention and get approved more readily. . .. Getting your doctor to document your issues properly is essential! There is a cap on how much an attorney can get for SSDI cases. ($2000?) . . . Not enough to interest any but the most dedicated attorneys. Rogene

Guest guest
Thanks Brigite, I have a good ss attorney and I don't think he would take my case if he couldn;t win. He has handled fibro cases as well as implant cases. I am on welfare due to all the illness. Everything you mentioned applies to me. I rarely leave except to grocery store. I take 2 naps a day. I have to sit down after I get out of the bed. I am trying to hang in there. I just came back from my mammogram which I wanted to do because it had been 6 years. The capsular contraction hurt so much I never went back for another one. I just wanted to check to make sure I ws good 11 months after explant, well I had to go back this morning because of something they saw on the 1st one. They showed it to me and yea there is something not right. I am so depressed and upset I know I need to wait and see but I can't help but think here we go again. I don't think I can handle a biopst or another breast surgery. I just feel really sad right now. Terri P HawaiiKissofSadness@... wrote: Terri, Keep fighting with SSI Disability. I was approved at age 22 on the first try when I first got sick---so it isn't due to your age at all. It's hard, but they should be able to find reasons like: Anxiety, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia. My list also has some other disabling diseases, but didn't at the time. I don't think it varies by state at all, because many people I know who can't work get denied... it's all in what you have, and I think these are all disabling factors; however, you do have to be unable to do any job in any way, shape, or form. You have to prove you're too sick to keep up a routine (to hold a job), and you have to be disabled to the point that you not only can't do the job you were doing ---but ANY job. If they think you can so much as go into Mc's and fry burgers, or work as a receptionist ---they deny you. After approval, they review you any where from annually to every 7 years. (I've had I think 4-6 reviews.) They also look at your life and things you do. Like myself for example -if it gives you an idea what they are looking for: I RARELY am able to go any where. I only drive a couple times per month, and went 2 years without driving at all. I may go 1-2 weeks without leaving my house simply because I don't have the energy. Some days I don't even walk outside. If I go to the grocery store for 2 hours, I have to come home and pass out for 12. Years ago, I tried adopting a baby. I had him about 6 months and had to pass because I was unable to have the energy to care for him. Jeff was having to take off work a lot of days to come home because it was too much. My parents took him in the evenings and overnight, and I couldn't even handle having him 8 hours while my Mom worked. (By the way, my parents adopted him, so they are now 62 with a 7 year old... so he's my little "brother.") I may go shopping a few times per year when we absolutely need something that can't be ordered over the internet. I rarely see my family, never see friends (maybe once every 2-3 yrs despite they're only a few minutes away) because I can't talk very long or handle company---I get too exhausted. It takes me all day to clean what most can do in an hour... etc, etc. (I have a hard time moving, talking, and being up and about between head to toe pain, migraines/headaches, and severe fatigue.) So, I'm even unable to have a social life. Jeff goes and socializes on his own without me... with his friends, to family holiday dinners, visiting parents, etc. People who haven't been around me in person enough to know how sick I am, or who think I'm just a hypochondriac, think I have "agoraphobia" because I go out so little...but that isn't the case at all. It's not mental. I just can't physically. So, they look at all that when they question you about your daily activities. I "think" you also have to have been off work for 1 year unless it's an extreme or sudden circumstance. Anyway, like I said -keep trying. It depends on your income, but if you made more than $30,000 last year I'd say you'd get $850 or so per month... then after 2 years, you're eligible for Medicare. It's a long wait, I know, but it beats nothing. Keep us posted. Brigite How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.
