I just remember when I was in Nursing cancer patients and the elderly felt the same way. We would make them necklaces that had pictures of what they looked like before their chemotherapy and when they had hair. For the elderly, they would post their pictures of when they were young and when they were doing something in their professions on the door. This way, you had to see this picture before communicating with them. It really provided a new insight to the person and who they saw themselves as. This way when we spoke to them we were not seeing bald heads, wrinkles, disease, or pain. The pictures reminded us that the person on the inside was who that person really is and feels they are. It is a great reminder! I have a picture of me in a lime green bikini with gold hoops on the side and my Farrah Facet hair down to my butt that I posted on my refrigerator once. My 18 year old son said " Who is that hot Mama? " His Dad replied, " How do you think you got here " . So group, what picture would you chose to place around your neck, on the door, or on the refrigerator ? I challenge you to let us know. Don't be shy, you know your favorite picture, tell us.
