Thanks so much Caitlin - you made me feel so much better. Its been 8 months

since this all happened and my husband is working very hard at exercising. I'm

the one that gets so impatient. He was always such a strong man and very

active - golfed 3 times a week and was always working around the house. Now, all

he seems to do is read. The neurosurgeon wants to avoid surgery, as he's not in

any pain and is not incontinent. hanks so much for your help.

So yes, you can build the muscle back up in time. It is pretty hard at first

because of the weakness, but just basic use of the leg can make a world of

difference. I don't think it has much to do with the nerves, just the muscles.
