Bladder infections and iodine

I wanted to share a recent experience that I found to be quite amazing since Leyna posted about taking iodine for thyroid sufferers. I have a full strength Lugol's solution and a half strength that I bought several years ago in my cupboard, so I used the full strength to do the skin test over a 24 hour period, and I used the half strength to take a few drops in water. I've used it only a few times since we had that discussion. Last night and also about a week ago, I noticed the start of a bladder infection, complete with the burning and the urge to go to the bathroom pronto. I hate it when those symptoms flare! I believe my two recent bouts were due to some strong herbs my dentist has me on. Thankfully, I have only had one other instance of a bladder infection in the last year, after taking some very strong antibiotics for dental issues. It is usually not a problem for me. But since being on those herbs, which are supposed to kill off spirochetes, I noticed two instances of the bladder infection signs. Last night it was flaring while we were driving home from Utah, and I was in pure misery the whole drive home. I thought I was going to end up in the emergency room with full blown kidney pain by the time we got here. I was so miserable! When I got home, I immediately drank water with iodine added, then sat on the toilet and drank and pee'd for an hour. I was amazed to find relief from those symptoms within hours of taking iodine! That has happened twice now in the past week. I think I've found a new remedy for bladder infections, at least for me....I just wanted to share that in case it could help someone else. I'm keeping this stuff on hand just for bladder infections! Patty
