I take 50,000 IU of a specialized formula of D-3(only one pharmacy in the area

makes it). I take it for 4-6 weeks then have my blood monitored. I have tried

many things and this really does help my pain levels, especially cramping and

pain in legs.

From what I've heard/read its hard to get all the Vit. D you need from the sun

if you have very low levels. I sit in the morning sun almost everyday and was

obviously not getting enough.

Caitlin

Most Vitamin D is fat soluable so can be toxic in large doses, there is

howeverwater soluble D, perhaps that's what she was taking in large

doses.Remember Morning sun is what you're after, not mid-dayBe well!

Do you know what the difference is between the D3 I buy off the shelf

and the D3 the pharmacy makes for you?

As we get older, we don't do as good a job of getting Vitamin D from

sunshine. 'Course, you're not " older " yet, but you're working on it :-)

Well, besides it being 50,000 IU's which is a very large dose, it also is

formulated so that the body can better absorb it. I don't know the exact

formulation, of course.
