Guest guest
, I have not used guaifenesin, and it does require adhering to a very strict protocol, but there have been many people with FMS who have been helped by it who were not helped by anything else. Many of them had tried every alternative therapy possible and to no avail and thought they were never going to feel better. I am still skeptical about it but I may try guaifenesin just to see if it has any effect. The worst part about the protocol is that you have to avoid salicylates-- both topical and internal-- which means no plant-based cosmetics or supplements. This would be hard for me-- the thought of switching to products with all those artifical ingredients and giving up all my herbs and supplements is not a pleasant one, but if it meant that I would feel better it would be worth it. I know the guai protocol goes against the idea that what women are experiencing after explant is due to toxicity, but I am not sure I believe that every body's negative reaction to implants is only due to toxicity-- some people have a genetic proclivity for FMS symptoms, which can be triggered by trauma-- surgery, accident, stress, etc. so that even were the toxins cleared out, the FMS symptoms would continue to plague. Guaifenesin works on the theory that the body is not processing phosphates correctly and is storing them in the tissues, which in turn taxes the body's cells and causes the symptoms of FMS. Guai allows the body to excrete phosphates. There is usually a worsening of symptoms before one's body begins to "clear" of phosphates and then begins to recover. This is all theory--there has been very little definitive research on this (something that always raises red flags for me). I have to say though that the testimonials for this therapy are stunning. So many people have recovered from FMS on guai. It's hard to ignore. A long answer to your question! Bindi Re: BINDI Can you tell me alittle about quaifenesin ? Are you going to take the mucinex ?
