Brigite,What a powerful post. Thank you for your candor. You are absolutely right, too, about the on and off label approvals for Cymbalta. I also have all 3, and found Cymbalta effective for all. It sounds like my depression may not have been as severe as yours. However, I was in the hospital for a couple days during the worst of it, when I was so very sick physically.I felt like I watched my life go down the toilet, and wasn't sure I was even going to live - before my explant, it seemed my health was going south at breakneck speed. So I'm sure that fed into the depression.I suspect we all have learned to be less trusting of the medical profession as a result of our implant experiences. I know I surely have. And I research far more than I once did before I take any medication, or go to any doctor. I always look up a doctor;s background before I make an appointment! LOL. In 1984, when I had my implants, I didn't have the internet to look up these things. And, I have to admit it never occurred to me to call the state medical board. Silly me - I believed the plastic surgeon when he told me he was board certified. (He never was and has since lost his medical license for that among many other misdeeds).

Molly,

Don't feel silly about not checking out your doctor more thoroughly. Sadly, being board certified didn't even matter in the event of those of us who've been made ill due to implants. I got mine in 1997 (without the internet), and I did check my doctor out with the state medical board as well as worth of mouth. He was board ceritified, and he was even a professor. He'd practiced cosmetic surgery over 20 years, and was reknown in our state as being the best... and he STILL misinformed me about the safety of saline breast implants.

My opinion is that back then -they probably didn't know better, and assumed the 'new' saline implants WERE safe alternatives......... It's the doctors TODAY who for a fact KNOW BETTER and STILL tell women they are 100% safe that really upset me the most.

How can we all be ignored? How can they keep slapping us in the face and looking at us like hypochondriacs when we can all pinpoint the exact time we became sick? It keeps boggling my mind!!!!!!!!!!! I know we all ask these questions every day -especially on our worst days.

That's why this board is so wonderful... I come here and know that I'm not the big quack ---the doctors who ignore our reactions to the implants are the big quacks!

:) lol

Brigite :)
