Guest guest
Hi I don't think anyone should be surprised to find they have gallstones since it seems that a good percentage of the population actually has them (but they don't all have attacks from them). So - you're in good company! (if that's any consolation!!) As for your " charming " symptoms <grin> - you're not alone there, either. If there's any place where a person can casually mention those things and have most of the rest of the group relate to them - this is the place!! They aren't chatted about in the mainstream, but here, most of us have either had them or are having them to one degree or another. So now - what to do? You aren't ready yet, it seems to attempt a standard cleanse - and that's okay. You may change your mind down the road. The surgeon will most likely recommend removal of the gallbladder. Don't be too hard on him for that - it is, after all, what he's trained to do. If he suggests it, it's most likely that he honestly believes, in his experience, that it's the best route for you. That doesn't mean that he's right. It doesn't sound like you're in any kind of critical situation and you're doing the right thing in checking out alternatives. As for the drug that you mentioned - all I can say is that I personally would not opt for prescription drugs unless I was in a life threatening situation and that was the only thing that would keep me alive. That sounds extreme, perhaps, but the symptoms that you are having demonstrate that there is probably a sluggish liver already and the last thing I would want to do is add an additional load to that liver. That's just my personal choice - others may feel differently. You don't have to drink a LOT of olive oil in order to do this cleanse. There are those who have tried it using larger amounts (I used a whole pint once), but that isn't necessary. In fact, I think that it was Dale who posted that he had a successful cleanse using just a 1/4 cup of oil. If you take a look at a 1/4 measuring cup - that really isn't a lot to get down. If that still is not something you want to do, there are even milder cleanses that can be done. They might be enough to flush out at least some of the sand/sludge in your gallbladder, but they aren't as noticeable as the regular cleanse (where your bowels are emptied and you can see the stones/sand/sludge in the bowl after you have a movement. You'll probably get other thoughts from other people about lecithin and things that you mentioned - I'm not familiar with them, so I can't comment. I just thought I'd put my .02 out there about the rest. You have options and I'm glad that you're out here looking at them! in health, In a message dated 2/7/02 11:59:03 PM Eastern Standard Time, ssskrc@... writes: > Well I got my ultrasound report and I have gallstones. Guest guest
Hi , I agree with 's post; any drugs you take will only serve to put an added strain on your liver. I've had my gallbladder removed (I'm a 44 year old female). It wasn't a walk in the park. I wish I had known about the liver cleanse before I had surgery. I'll never know now, if I could have prevented the surgery. I understand your hesitation about drinking the oil. All I can tell you is, it's not as bad as you'd expect. I hold my nose, and take a big breath. Then I drink the olive oil/grapefruit mixture (Dr. 's cleanse) through a straw, straight down, with one breath. I use organic olive oil, and that seems to go down, and stay down better than non-organic. I've done the cleanse six times now, and am going to do it again tonight. The benefits of the liver cleanse, so far outweigh the difficulty in doing it. After my GB surgery, I continued to have pain and digestive problems. The liver cleanse has relieved me of all symptoms. Well, I hope I've encouraged you some. Keep reading and feel free to ask any question. Adrienne --- ssskrc@... wrote: > Well I got my ultrasound report and I have gallstones.
