I tried it for a while, when I was on the Atkins diet, but cannot really say if it helped or not. I think the low carbing was helping more  My understanding regarding all this is that Ribose is a sugar, but it is not particularly bad, in the sense I do not think in itself it causes too many problems. But and the other folk I have spoken to that were using it were not using ketosis, they tended to be low carbers. I think to use it with ketosis would be problematic since it would quit easily take us out of ketosis  The other thing, and dont quote me on this because I really do not understand the ATP system in detail, but my understanding is that the ATP system works very differently when we are in ketosis compaired to how it works in the glucose pathway. Even when low carbing, if we are not using ketones as our primary fuel that the way the ATP system operates very differently, but I cannot explain how, it is too technical for me  There are two fibro doctors that I know of that focus on the ATP system in regards to fibro, one is Dr Teitelbaum, who runs the sight for Fatigue fantastic and the other is Dr Myhill, she promotes a hunter gatherer diet but her supplement program is somewhat different to Bees  Hope this is useful  Love Joanne ________________________________ To: " fibromyalgiacured " <fibromyalgiacured > Sent: Friday, 3 August 2012, 4:25 Subject: Lactic acid  Sitting here reviewing my Cachexia notes, a product called Ribose is used to treat fibromyalgia because it can get past the lactic acid in the body and get glucose directly into the muscles????? Has this been hashed over long before or has anyone tried adding this to their diets?
