Guest guest
First, I would like to thank and Lyndi for responding to my first message about how to cope with my husbands chronic pain. It helped me back off of him. Since I last posted the doctor thinks he has fibromyalgia, since all his blood tests and xrays came back negative. So the dr has him on lyrica, hydrocodone 10/500, ibuprofen, paxil and a muscle relaxant. The last several days he has been very fatigued and severe pain. He called me from work stating that his boss thinks he needs to go home. When he got home he looked like death warmed over. He's a veteran so we went to to the VA hospital, went to his blue team and they couldn't see him so we had to go to the ER. He ended up getting 3 shots, 1 is a fast acting steroid, 1 is a long term steroid and the other was a shot that was suppose to give him fast acting pain relief and inflamation relief. Plus they gave him prednisone to take for 5 days. Since we are still learning about fibromylagia and I know there are a lot of people in the group that has more experience than we do with it. Does the medication prescribed sound reasonable? Did the ER help him with the shots? Does different pain medication work better than others? We are very emotional right now, both of us are still crying a lot but I hope in time it will get better. Thanks for listening, Betty
