Maureen, Mine looked almost exactly the same as pre-implant, only a little bigger, due to a 35 pound weight gain. I got a lift because I had had mine for 16 years and figured I'd be saggy. Normally lifts really make a huge difference in how you look afterwards I've heard! I didn't have any "downtime" after my surgery really-I went downstairs at my hotel and walked on the treadmill a few hours after my surgery, and was shopping the next day, and went back to work one week later. My drains were out the next day. It just depends on what doctor you use it seems like. As far as what to expect...everyone is different, and detoxing makes a huge difference in your healing I've been told. I'm still tired, but my neck/shoulder/head pain is totally gone, and my Fibro is a LOT better. My surgeon (Dr. Melmed) said it usually takes a couple of years to be totally back to how you were before

implants...but everyone is different!minimoskier <minimoskier@...> wrote: How do your breasts compare to pre-implant? My PS said they will probaly look the same but possibly more saggy. He did suggest a lift -will that help a ton? How long was your down time after surgery? And, how long did you have drains in for? What can I expect post op? I'm so undecided on what to do..........I can't seem to keep a clear mind about all this information. Thank you for your advice.MAureen---

My breast look great ! I swear. They are nice and round and high and I'm 47. I'm the same size as before implants. 34 C.....just now they aren't saggy. I have scars but its only been 5 weeks and they already look better. I'd have to say I'm over 50 % better already not near as achy. Its the best thing I ever did. I had saline implants for almost 3 years, and I was sick from like the first week. I was out of work 2 weeks but I really only needed a week, but I sit behind a computer all day so it depends on what you do.I worried about having them removed for over 2 years and drove myself crazy ...don't...it's not as near as bad as getting them. Take care email me anytime.

Really? Mine went away immedietely after surgery.....I still have Fibro problems though-just not near as bad. Usually it's in my hip, sometimes shoulder occasionally. It's not every day though, and eating a couple of raw garlic cloves a day really helps it a lot!GMCLADY98@... wrote: How long did it take for your neck and shoulder and back pain to go away ? • 2 weeks later...

Maureen,

My breasts are better since I had a lift. I knew I needed a lift from the beginning, as I was saggy from breast feeding. If you are young, and you have elastic skin with no sagging before implanting, then you probably won't need a lift at explant. But you can decide that with your explanting surgeon. Make sure you discuss all the lift options, as there are new ones that leave less scars, such as the lollipop lift, which eliminates the crease-long scar at the bottom of the breast (used in the anchor lift.)

My down time after surgery was very little--only a week or so.

Explant is easier on you than implanting...much less pain!
