Guest guest
Hi, I can't remember if it was brought up on this link or another, or another group. It is some treatments with herbs seem to work for a while, and then stop, or we feel worse later. A lot of drugs we get from our doc work only for a while, as we build up a tolerance to them. I had a lot of friends during the 70s and 80s that were into herbs and alternative treatments. They always said the benefits were short lived. I think herbs can get us through a rough time, but we cannot depend on them long term. We do try now to stick to the ketogenic diet, as its benefits seem to last, as long as we stick to it. I enjoy some spices in my cooking, but I consider them as getting some nutrients, not always for healing. There seems to be some difference in plants,if you look them up, as to if they are a herb or a spice. Some in higher doses are more of a medicine than a nutrient. So there could be a difference in taking something in pill form-a larger dose, than in adding some to food, of as a tea. Anyway, something for us to think about. cindy c > > Saisha > > I live in England but many of my friends are from India and Asia. I work on Asian markets selling jewelery cosmetics and so on to immigrants. They have a few times made me spicy teas with fenugreek in them, but I never took that much notice about the fenugreek, but recently when traveling around the web fenugreek has been popping up as a potential healing herb. > > Love Joanne > > > > Saisha said.......... > > > > > in india fenugreek is use a lot - both as a spice and for health reasons. I have recently started drinking fenugreek water (water boiled with seeds for at least one hour and i feel that there is reduction in swelling in my body.. > >
