As for the support from your friend, I know I liked to hear " you did the right thing " " you'll be a new you in no time " and having a few meals cooked for me was nice! Guest guest
, For the most part, I was alone after my surgery, so the mere fact that someone is going to be there with you sounds great to me. I'm thinking that he can just ask you what you need when the time comes, if it's not obvious. It depends on how you feel physically and mentally. You might feel like you need to talk, or you might feel like crying, or you might just want someone to engage in light conversation. He could also take you for a ride, because even though you probably won't be up for walking, I found a ride to be a nice way to pass the time. Guest guest
Hi LInda, Sending wishes for a great explant surgery coming up! There will be lots of things your friend can do to support you when you come home from surgery. Most of all, mentally, he can help by being upbeat and positive about your outcome, cheerful and keep you smiling as much as he can. Physically after surgery, it helps to have things close by the bed within reach for you. Lots of water, for sure, and then healthful snacks. Also reading material, and good music, so have your IPOD handy. You also should have comfy clothes within reach, soft cotton clothes that button up the front so you don't have to slip things over your head. It's nice to have easy foods handy that don't need alot of preparation and clean up time, so things like yogurt and soups are great to have on hand for meals, or fruits and veggies. Nuts are good for protein. Maybe you can go shopping ahead of time, and have these things handy where you plan on parking yourself for a few days while you heal. Hope that helps, Patty Preparation for explant and lift.... Hi everyone,Just getting ready for my explant on Nov 3rd. I have a good friend taking care of me when I get home.
