Guest guest
Welcome Maureen, You've found the right place! . . .and smart to check it out! . .. When a woman is symptomatic, even though she's only had her implants a short time, it's important to find a doctor who will remove them properly. . . The best option is called en bloc. . . That's where they cut around the capsule your body has formed around your implants and remove the capsule with the implant still inside. This prevents contaminates from spilling into your chest cavity. That's not always possible . . . The next best option is for the capsule to be completely removed. That's called a capsulectomy. How you will look depends on a number of factors including the surgeons' skill. If a surgeon tells you that you'll be deformed, consider that his opinion of his/her own skills and run! You should have minimal scaring. You will probably look much like you did before implants. If you were saggy, you may want to get a mastopexy (lift) at the time of explant. Husbands can be a tough sell! . . . Some women have had to struggle to get the cooperation of their spouse - but when all's said and done, they usually come around completely. Men like to be in control . .. when they see their spouse sick, they want to fix it on their own terms. . . Many men are upset over the expense. For myself, I consider the money spent on my explant to be the best investment I ever made! . . . Chances are, you willl too! Hugs and prayers, Rogene
Guest guest
Hi Maureen, I got my implants in May of 2005 and had them removed in November of 2005. I got sick very quickly and progressively got worse. My husband wasn't real supportive of my having them removed, but I decided that nobody else lived in my body but me, and I wasn't going to give anyone the power to decide what I did with my body. My husband was my brick wall when I needed him to be my rock, and after a couple of months I realized I had to take action or my life was just going to continue to spiral out of control. I had swollen joints, muscle spasms, bulging veins, high blood pressure, anxiety attacks, bone pain, digestive problems, brain fog, daily headaches, blurry vision. I felt like I lived in my own private hell for six months, and quite honestly I felt there were only two ways out of my dilemma, and the better option by far was surgery. My pictures are posted at .shutterfly.com, and the password is implants. Those pictures were taken about 6 months ago. I'm very happy with my results. Sis .shutterfly.com > > I'm new to this site. Guest guest
When I was worried about the way I was going to look before I explanted, many of the women here said basically that I was going to look real similar to the way I looked before ever getting implants. I was so hopeful that they were right. I was explanted in Feb. of this year after having implants under the muscle for six years. The were right. My boobs look exactly like my pre-implant pictures the PS took before augmentation. Actually, now that I have matured emotionally and healed my issues with my poor self esteem, I think my boobies are more beautiful then they did back then, even though the are the same. minimoskier <minimoskier@...> wrote: I'm new to this site. Guest guest
, This is such a perfect end to the story of emotional healing regarding our own breasts. I can honestly say, I feel the same way about mine too. My breasts not be spectacular to anyone else, but to me, they are wonderful, they are mine, they are soft, and they are the perfect size for me as I age. It is only through emotional maturity and through faith that we can see ourselves as God sees us, and realize that we are just the way we should be. If only I had known how to appreciate my breasts back before I got implants! But God takes all of these trials and makes them have beautiful endings, at least that is what He did for me, and I am so grateful to Him for that. You have a beautiful way of expressing this--thank you !
