Guest guest
Bill, This happened to me. I had a fibula fracture that did not heal for 2 1/2 years and it was quite painful. Actually the plate they put in my leg broke and then the bone would never grow back together. I had to wear a bone growth stimulator for 12 hours (at night) and after ANOTHER surgery to re-plate it, it finally healed. Shwew. I had four surgeries before it was all over! Can you believe they told me I shouldn't be having pain and tried to deny me any pain medication! My leg would swell to baseball size (or bigger)every day. Finally they re-cast it and then I had to wear a boot for the next year. If they ask you to wear a bone growth stimulator and your insurance won't pay for it (its close to $10,000) let me know. I have one that I obviously can't use anymore and would be happy to mail it to you. It might need some maintenance but should be just fine. Good luck, Caitlin Moderator Moraca wrote:The doctor told me yesterday that the pain is not RSD and the bone in my leg has not fused or has broke again acording to the CT. So now I have to find the next step to get fixed. The leg is hurting in the 7-9 range all the time. I cant sleep any more. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Try it now.
