WOW ! Colleen! It's so wonderful to see you posting!

You brought a big smile to my face.

Congratulations on your marriage and your work with the singles group--that is just totally awesome.

I hope married life has brought you lots of joy! I wish I could have seen you in the snow in sun valley getting married....oh my, that must have been so beautiful! I, too, think about what a wonderful time together we all had in Sun Valley. (We did end up with our own place in the Utah wilderness, too!)

Hashimoto's huh? Well we're Hashi's sisters now, and there are plenty of us around here, that's for sure.

The weight is an issue for me too, and I've been gaining about 5 lbs a year generally. I could stand to lose 20 lbs now instead of 10. I found out that I am gluten intolerant also, so I am doing the gluten free thing, and hoping that my avoidance of breads, pastas, flour, etc is going to make a huge difference in me losing weight finally. That, and getting and staying on an exercise program that works.

I remember you got yourself some workout equipment. Are you still using it? You looked great when I saw you in Idaho!

I am on Armour thyroid meds, and am taking 2 grains in the morning and 1 grain in the afternoon, (if I remember). I agree that for me the Armour works well. I was also on T3, and I think for those who are not seeing results on synthetic thyroid meds, it could be a conversion issue, with the T4 not properly converting to T3 as it is supposed to do. It sounds like that was your issue Colleen!

Thanks again for dropping in to say HI! I love to hear news from our group members and I hope you see success with your new thyroid meds.

Maybe someday we can get together again with another group of ladies!

God bless,

Patty

Hello old friends

Just thought I would pop in and say Hi and give you an update.

Wow it's been 3 years since being explanted. Life has really changed for me since than. Divored, started singles group in my area. (over 300 members todate) Met a wonderful man and got married New Years Eve 2005 in the Snow in Sun Valley.

Health update...... ..

Have been doing really well except because of the implants I ended up with Hashimots diease. Well let me tell you that has been fun. I have gained 40 pounds and no matter what I do It won't come off. (I think I am the only person to gain weight on Craig) It has taken a bit to find the right doctor to get the right meds. started 2 months ago on (Armour) I am very hopeful now that I can get this under control. I have none of the many syptoms left from the implants, but this dam thyroid thing is driving me nuts.

From what I remember, there were many of us that ended up with a thyroid problem. How is everyone else doing with this????? Other than the weight issue, before getting on Armour I was really tried all the time and just not myself. Almost felt like my body was falling apart again. (Oh how I wish I had never put those implants in) Ladies, after getting the implants out, keep an eye on your thyroid. This could be why some of you are not feeling as good as you should. Even if your blood tests show that you are with in normal range. (Take your temperture a couple times a day, and if you are below 98.6 , this could mean that your thyroid is not working) And if this happens to you like it did me DON'T go on anything else but Armour. I wasted almost 2 1/2 years being treated with the syntathic crap T4 only and not getting better.

I miss all you guys and hope all is going well. I think about you often and what a great time we had in Sun Valley.

I will try to check in more often.

Love , Colleen (cricket)

Colleen, How wonderful to hear from you! . . . Keep up the good work! . . . You're not alone with thyroid problems, by any means. It seems to be the number one problem left over after everything else clears up! My readings are borderline .. . .so my doc won't give me meds - BUT I recently started taking two drops of Oregano Iodine daily. It's making a big difference in my energy AND in my hair and fingernail growth. Give your hubby a hug from us . . . and tell him to remind you to check in more often! We've missed you! Hugs, Rogene
