Guest guest
Brig, These are great ideas and I'm so proud of you for coming up with money saving tips to help yourself get explanted. A lot of women would simply give up and live sick. You'll make you're goal!! Another idea is to get rid of cable TV, if you have it. This will save a lot of money each week! Also, if you have a bike, ride it where you can so you don't use gas. Walking is great, if you don't have a bike and both are great exercise. Kenda > These are MINOR things I'm trying to do... Guest guest
You can save a few bucks by watching the supermarket ads - they frequently have items they sell at a loss to get customers in . . . and clip those coupons! . . . They can add up to substantial savings - if they are items you regularly use. Buy in large sizes/quantites - like Costco/Sams Club . . . just don't buy items you don't need! . . . That's where they make their big bucks. Rogene

I know none of them amount to much, but every little bit helps: Money saving ideas: *Have everyone in your family save 'cans' and aluminum to be recycled. (Mine doesn't drink soda from cans, if at all, but I'm spreading the word anyway!) *Clean out your closets. Take out anything you haven't worn in 1 year. Put it on eBay or take it to a consignment store. *Turn the heat down this winter. Put on more clothes, use more blankets. *Take showers instead of baths. *Buy cheaper meats and cook them in a crock pot to make them tender. *Make homemade gifts. (I'm going to make bath salts and bath bombs, and bake cookies as Christmas gifts... Not that we ever spend that much anyway, but still it may save a little bit.) *A large 3 wick candle can provide 2-3 months of evening lighting for about $6 -if you buy the cheap ones from Walmart, or any cheap ones you can find. If you follow tips to save on utilities, be sure to put some cash into savings each month -since you know you're not spending it on bills. I'm going to "shoot" for $50/month if I can follow through with these things, plus what ever I make by selling my clothes off. I think I'm going to try a consignment store and see how that works out. My goal is to take EVERYTHING that can easily be replaced. (When you're plus sized, it's hard to find clothes... but within reason, I'm taking anything I can re-buy later on.) Gals, keep posting any suggestions! They are always welcomed by those of us who are still working to save towards explant!!!
