alpha lipoic acid and acetyl-L-carnitine

I have been reading about alpha lipoic acid and acetyl-L-carnitine, and how useful they are when used together, for people with fibro symptoms. I wondered if anyone here has used them? Supposedly they help repair damage to cells. There is one supplement called Juvenon that has these in it, and it is recommended by Weil. I suppose one could easily buy them from a reputable source as as well.
