Leyna,

I looked really bad at first, freakish, really. One side looked much worse. But now, one year later, I look pretty good, both sides are even. If it's lumps and bumps you are worried about, I would be patient and wait for fluffing. If it's a misplaced scar, it's fixable, and I would shoot Melmed an email with your concerns. He will probably tell you to wait a while. Remember, the scars will fade, the lumps will smoothe out-- you will look different in the coming months.

Bandages finally off

Ok, so my explant was a little over a month ago, and I finally got up my courage to rip the tape off my incisions.

I wish I hadn't now!

One side looks nice and normal.....

The other side....is deformed!

Dr. Melmed totally missed the incision site! He cut almost halfway through my nipple....so now I have this horrible dent in my nipple, and then a lumpy area around it!

It really looks bad!!!

Can ya'll think of any reason why he would have done this to my nipple? I mean, I know that there really is a chance that women can become "deformed" looking after explant...but my other breast looks fine, so I think it was that he really did just totally miss where he was supposed to cut!!

My husband refuses to even look at it....

Bindi, Well, I think he missed where he was supposed to cut altogether.....he cut almost halfway through my nipple, instead of around it. What I mean is that he cut INTO my nipple, instead of around it. The other breast is not like that at all-on that one, he cut around the nipple area like he was supposed to. My husband won't even look at them! That nipple will not "be erect" anymore-it's butchered I guess you could say....I'll have one nipple that gets erect (sorry, don't mean to sound perverted!), and then the other one is...um...deformed. Not sure how else to word it. It's kinda ironic too, becuase before surgery, I mentioned about how bad my implanting surgeon did with the incisions...he went outside my nipple. Dr. Melmed said "Oh, don't worry-we can fix that!"...but instead he's made me look like the Bride of enstein! How long till you fluff

out? Didn't he say 3 months?freebindi <bindi@...> wrote: Leyna, I looked really bad at first, freakish, really. One side looked much worse. Leyna,

I'm confused. Do you mean he cut through the areola, or the actual nipple? If it's the latter, that does sound disturbing. I can't imagine why he would do that. If it's the aerola, he may have reduced it because it was stretched out fom the implants-- I think he usually does this with a lift.

If you want better feedback, you could post your photos on the site. I keep meaning to take "after" shots and post mine. I will do it soon.

Bindi, It's the areola. I went to Explantation.com and looked at the photos I had posted there. When I clicked on the large photo of my "with implants" photo, I could see where the implanting doctor had cut into the areola-he went out of the area he should have made the incision on one side-the side with my tattoo. lol. Dr. Melmed had told me that he was going to try to fix that...so I'm sure that was his intention. It's just that one side has a big DENT in the areola....it doesn't look like the other side at all. Hopefully after I fluff out, it will look better.freebindi <bindi@...> wrote: Leyna, I'm confused. Do you mean he cut through the areola, or the actual nipple? Leyna,

It WILL fluff out. Everything moves around, softens up and fills out with time. I was really mishapen after Melmed's explant surgery-- one side was lower, the other all weirdly-shaped, and there was a dent in the area where there should have been be cleavage. I also hated the gathered, puckered look from the sutures. My sweetheart told me I looked beautiful, but I knew he was lying, just trying to make me feel good.

But it's all fine now. No dents, gathers, or odd angles-- it looks good. Considering how big I was with implants, it's amazing Melmed was able to get me looking this good. I should have had a lift in the first place, instead of implants. Oy.

Try to be patient! You'll get there. You're lucky, you have lots of tissue still and you're going to look fabulous, much better than with implants.
