Hi , I am sorry that you are having problems when you work out. I know that it is frustrating to not be able to do what you want because your body will no cooperate. May I ask what you do when you work out and how long you work out? I started working out again about a month after my explant (had explant in August 2006). I am taking it slow and trying to work up to what I used to do. I usually do some stretches and then about 30 to 40 minutes on the bike. Some days I am really too tired to work out and other days I am fine. I have never gotten dizzy or my heart start to beat really fast though. Has your doctor considered doing a test where they monitor your heart when you walk or run on a treadmill? God Bless Shoham <resultsbyrachel@...> wrote: Hi all!I am so incredibly sad...I feel as though i'm not, and will never... get better. Can someone answer this question?I haven't been able to work out in 3 1/2 years and I'm not sure what's causing the problem. Everytime I do ANYTHING that elevates my heart rate i start shaking uncontrolably, my joints stiffen, i get light headed and dizzy, and feel like i'm going to pass out. This will last anywhere from 6 hours after to, sometimes, the end of the day. I can't understand what's causing this and feel SO hopeless! Shouldn't SOMEONE have an answer for me?!About 7 months ago

I saw an endocrinologist who found out my cortisol levels were double the norm. They also found something slightly off in my adrenal production, but she didn't give me anything for it. Said the only thing that could cause it was a tumor. She checked my adrenal glands and pituitary gland (via MRI and Catscan) and found nothing. She was at a loss for words. I had my implants removed one month later (By Dr. Kolb). That was 6 months ago...Any suggestions as to what to do or who to see? Anyone have ANY idea what's causing this ONLY when i work out...or should i say "TRY" to work out!:(California

Thanks for your reply!

All i do is walk on the treadmill, usually speed 3.8 or 4.0... sometimes for 30 min - an hour. With that sometimes i'm fine, sometimes i'm not. When i even try to lift a 5 pound dum bell or do really light weights for 5 min's or even the bike or eliptical (ANYTHING weight baring or with resistance) it starts up. i can't even do squats with just my body weight. I tried again this morning and i'm sitting here so dizzy and light headed, my hands and legs shaking as if i was geeked out on some caffeine or something. It's so uncomfortable.

No, my dr. hasn't mentioned anything. I haven't even BEEN to the dr. since explant. I don't know who to go to. I don't really have a REGULAR dr. I was seeing someone for blood work, then they passed me on to the endocronologist who then dismissed me. THen i was off to have surgery with Dr. Kolb.

What type of dr. do you recommend i see?

I experience the same symptoms whenever I do anything that gets my heart rate going, especially dancing. I danced my butt off at a Halloween party, but had to stop every so often because I was dizzy, nauseaus and my heart was racing.

This tendency has improved with time, however. I, too, had elevated cortisol levels with implants, now they are normal. I think you just have to be patient and do exercise that is less taxing until you are able to do more. Biking, walking, yoga, stretching, gentle weightlifting. . Save the heavy cardio for when you are better. You'll get there.

problem is...i NEVER do heavy cardio. I have more " episodes " when i do anything WEIGHT BARING... even trying to do lunges or squats with JUST my BODY WEIGHT!

I get so down... it's so hard (and YES, there is a LOT of vanity involved), but everyday i see myself get more and more flabby. I'm ONLY 27 years old!

I used to be an athlete! I don't want to live like this... it's so difficult to stay positive! I'm not playing " the victim " , as that mentality drives me nuts... but i definitely have weak moments, sometimes weeks, of sadness and feelings of hopeless/helplessness.

THANK GOD that i at least have you ladies!

Question: Why you start getting your symptoms, do you get really shakey, too? Just curious...

How long have you been explanted?

I can relate. If I try to do anything with my muscles the same thing

happens to me I tried weed whacking a little at a time but had to

stop the muscles get worn out and I start shaking, I attribute mine

to the fibro and having weakness in the extremeties. My dr. TOLD ME

NOT TO DO ANYTHING THAT WILL CAUSE A VIBRATION IN THE MUSCLE.Whatever

that means.I shake from even doing some dishes or stirring a batch of

cookie batter. You are not alone here I just don't know what it is,

just weakness in the muscles I guess.

Yes, I used to get shaky, but it isn't that bad now. Do you have these symptoms when walking? If not, I would try and walk for 45 min to an hour every day, and stretch. If even light weights make you feel bad, maybe give up the weights for a bit.

I have been walking daily for the past two years, ever since I got sick from implants. Before that, I was healthy and athletic, ran six miles a day. While I was sick even walking was really hard, and continued to be for the first several months after explant. It would make me really tired and sore. But I have improved, and now I can walk an hour at a fast pace. I can dance for an hour (with short breaks). I'm hoping to add light cardio soon. I'm getting better and so will you.

It's so important to get exercise every day-- it will help you detox and heal. Try and find what you can do that doesn't stir things up too much and then slowly increase the intensity when you are able. I still get dizzy when I do yoga and weights, but it goes away within a half an hour and I definitely feel better for having exercised. Make sure you drink enough water every day-- some of your symptoms could be due to lack of circulation, and being dehydrated can thicken your blood and make it worse.

I think by " vibration " your dr. must mean anything " contracting " which would be anything " weight baring " ???

Hi , I was thinking it could be something related to your heart and a cardiologist would be the doc to see (or sometimes your GP would have testing done depending on symptoms). I think it is just like a stress test. Anyway, I am not sure that would be it if you are having these symptoms mainly with weight work though. Muscles will get weak after not being used or worked out for a while. If you were not working out for a while, maybe you just need to build up strength again. Also, I used to get just like that when I was pregnant and tried to work out. I would have to lay down for 15 or 20 minutes and wait for the nausea and shaking to lessen. I thought that was hormonal though (due to pregnancy). It could be that your body is still trying to balance itself and your hormones are still out of balance. I had saline implants for about 7 years and expect it to take a while for my body to correct itself. Have your tried doing just weights

or doing them before your cardio to see how you do? Maybe you can monitor yourself at each point during your workout to determine if it is something specific (like weights) that triggers it or duration. For me it is hard not to push myself as hard as I used to. I worked out a lot before I got sick. Maybe you are doing too much right now. Shoham <resultsbyrachel@...> wrote: Thanks for your reply! I'd highly recommend you see an ND and have your adrenals as well as your

neuro-regulatory hormones checked. There are supplements that can balance

both.

Hi : Exercise/physical activity worsens my symptoms too. After getting on a cardio machine on the gym for a few minutes, my feet start to burn and the pain under my left rib increases, so I only do a max of 12 minutes. I do weights too but it's the cardio that aggrevates it the most. Walking for any amount of time does it too. Dr. Kolb thought it could be mold in my gym shoes, but it's not that. I haven't been able to figure it out either, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with mold. She wants me to get back on anti-fungal medication as she thinks I still have mold growing in my chest wall (I've tried them all and done tons of detoxing). My explanting surgeon didn't do a great job getting everything out and I'm looking at another surgery to get rid of some lumps which might contain junk. Over the summer I thought my symptoms had pretty much

disappeared, but I think now that was due to the fact I wasn't working. I started a new job last month and am getting some again . Cold weather and possibly mold in the air (more common in fall) maybe play a part too. Maybe adrenals/excess cortisal play a role? My tests were way off too. My ND said it takes about two years for adrenals to recover, and that's about the amount of time Dr. Blais and Dr. Melmed say it takes to recover from implant illness, but it takes many of us longer. Have you done much detoxing? Hi ,

I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling so much with being able to work out. It is a worthy pursuit in regards to health, (we all know that), but at the same time, there may be some things that we should be very careful undertaking when our bodies aren't quite ready. I can only wonder if your muscles have experienced some type of weakening through implants, which has led to this reaction when you work out.

I experienced great muscle weakness after implants. I could tell because when I lifted heavy pans in the kitchen, it wasn't like before implants. My wrists nearly collapsed under the weight of a heavy pan, and I could no longer lift them one handed--I had to use two hands. That was my first clue.

I had further experience when certain other muscles shake uncontrollably for short bursts of energy, and they are muscles that I rarely use...my thigh muscles, and specifically my inner thigh muscles to be exact. It is only because those shake in certain situations that I can relate to what you've written about. But the shaking goes away and I am fine. I've never had the other more debilitating symptoms you mentioned, such as the dizziness, joint pain and nearly passing out. That sounds way more involved.

I wish we had some answers to share with you!

I wanted to offer my 2 cents, even though my knowledge and understanding of issues like your is basically worthless! But I hope you will be able to get some kind of answers from someone.

Over time, as I have healed, I have noticed that my muscle strength has returned somewhat, and I've no doubt it would be much better if I lifted weights, which I do not. Perhaps if you took working out very, very slowly, things would get better and better until you've detoxed to the point that your energy cycle returns to normal...I pray that this happens for you.

working out and SHAKING?!

Hi all!I am so incredibly sad...I feel as though i'm not, and will never... Shouldn't SOMEONE have an answer for me?!About 7 months ago I saw an endocrinologist who found out my cortisol levels were double the norm. They also found something slightly off in my adrenal production, but she didn't give me anything for it. Said the only thing that could cause it was a tumor. She checked my adrenal glands and pituitary gland (via MRI and Catscan) and found

nothing. She was at a loss for words. I had my implants removed one month later (By Dr. Kolb). That was 6 months ago...Any suggestions as to what to do or who to see? Anyone have ANY idea what's causing this ONLY when i work out...or should i say "TRY" to work out!:(California

Patty,

Thanks for your kind words.

I always tell myself that I'm going to keep working out, even lightly, no matter what. I never stick to it b/c I get so scared. Last week I walked one day for an hour. Later that day i got so dizzy and my blood sugar dropped. I started shaking, and took a sugar pill. I started to feel better from that, but for the past four days now i have not felt quite right. My heart's been racing, i've been shakey, etc. This is usually triggered from working out. I get so hopeless and depressed. I'm not really sure WHAT to do....

Let me offer this one suggestion. Have you tried kefir? This is such a simple thing to do, and if you have not tried making your own and ingesting it daily, you may want to consider it.

I find that drinking kefir daily has made me feel very, very good. My mother has also had the same experience.

The reason I suggest it, (beyond my obvious experience), is because of the lactic acid involvement, which is also part of the exercise experience. I don't know all the complexities of lactic acid production, aerobic vs anaerobic and ATP production, but wouldn't it be amazing if drinking kefir assisted somehow, due to the presence of the lactic acid? Lactic acid sometimes has a boogey-man, bad guy reputation due to pH issues, but further research shows that this may not be the case. It may rather, in fact, be good. Especially if you can use raw milk, which is alkaline forming rather than acid forming. In California, Organic Pastures is a very respected raw milk dairy.

If you are inclined, please just try it! See what happens. There are commercial kefir's available, but you may have even better results with making your own. There are people out there who can share their grains, including me. Mine are growing like mad!

Patty,

I know you've mentioned this before, and I think I might've deleted the post, but where can one get kefir grains? I don't know anyone near me that makes kefir.
