Guest guest
Have you tried potassium or are you drinking enough water? Speaking of weight loss, my gym trainer had me change my diet around in order to drop fat. I only weigh 97 pounds but I carry more fat than I would like and have a really hard time gaining muscle. He has me eating six small meals per day, 2 to 2 1/2 oz of protein per meal, 1/4 cup of starchy carb, and as much fruits and vegetables that I want. My last meal doesn't include a starch. I am eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. He did measurements and swim suit photos before I started and measurements one week later. My scale weight did not change but my body composition changed tremendously in just one week. I dropped fat and gained muscle mass, even when training one fewer day than usual. For anyone wanting to lose weight, my trainer has them follow this diet but adjust the amount of food to allow for weight loss. It's tough to carry around food to plan in advance but it really works and fast. My mood is better, I sleep better and feel better because of the constant feeding. I would recommend it to any of you wanting to lose weight. Guest guest
Kenda, I drink a lot of water, and not sure if I'm getting enough potassium....I used to think that was the problem, so I ate a lot of bananas, or took potassium supplements, but it did not work at all. I think mine is either peripheal neuropathy, or Intermittent claudication (or is that the same thing?) Either way, potassium and water do not help at all. I'm not very good with diets-can't afford fancy stuff like that-we eat $2.00 tv dinners and canned soups...cheap stuff! I do organic on my fruits and veggies though, but main meals are tv dinners. Guest guest
Leyna, You needn't buy fancy foods in order to eat simply. If you are already buying organic produce, all you need is some rice or potatoes, which are both very cheap and some sort of protein. Your $2 TV dinners are more costly than what eating simply would cost. Additionally, unless the TV dinners are from the health food store, you are poisoning your body, rather than feeding it. Please look at the labels and see what you are putting into your body. Guest guest
Leyna, There's not much nutrition in TV dinners . . . Most nutrients are long gone! Think of it as putting pasta in your gas tank and expecting your car to run. Guest guest
Leyna, I know what you mean about cooking. I find it very difficult to focus in the kitchen. I make very simple meals that take 20 minutes or under. One thing I did a while back...you can even get together with a friend and do it, I bought a bunch of food, enough for about 15 meals...bought disposable t.v. dinner trays...cooked the food....cooled it and froze it. Voila! I did it on a day off. It was actually fun. Homemade t.v. dinners! I love just popping something in the oven and warming it up! It's kind of like having a nanny! lol Also, I cook a big pot of brown rice...cut up veggies and have them in containers in the fridge. Cool the rice. Freeze individual servings in zip-lock bags. Stir-fry in 10 minutes. I could eat stir- fry everyday! And sometimes I do. I always have organic mini- carrots in the fridge and munch on them often. Celery and peanut butter is a fave too. Just some suggestions...hope one can work for you, Love & Hugs, Sunny > >>>>> > >>>>> Hi Everyone.. > >>>>> > >>>>> Thank you for your support with my decision to get my explant. > >>> It is > >>>>> hard to know if I feel better yet..my issue was a fatigue. Guest guest
Leyna, I have been using my crock pot a lot. I cook several chicken breasts in chicken stock and pull out a few of the breasts and have them on salads or in a wrap and I also have chicken soup, throwing in several types of fresh vegetables. Food is so very important for your body, it is the fuel that makes it work -- and heal. If you are not fueling your body properly, your chances of healing are slim. My fibro turned around when I started eating properly, to fuel my body instead of what sounded good or what was convenient. My trainer suggested that I eat six times a day, full meals! I told him I didn't have the time. He wanted me to skip my smoothie in the morning and cook breakfast. Again, no time. But you know what, I do have the time, I just have to make it a priority and I have and have been blessed with the benefits. It may mean being on the computer less in order to take care of yourself but you really do need to focus on eating better. No supplements you take will take the place of healing foods. Kenda > Leyna, I know what you mean about cooking. I find it very difficult > to focus in the kitchen. I make very simple meals that take 20 > minutes or under. Guest guest
And vital enzymes. A crock pot is great for slow cooking meats but always lightly steam vegetables for three minutes or less to preserve their enzymes. No microwaving for me. Guest guest
Leyna, You're reminding me of the chicken and egg saga . . . Once you start giving your body REAL nutrition, you'll start having the energy, and desire, to keep going. I know it's tough, but the results a worth the effort! Guest guest
Dear Leyna, it _is_ important that you get good food. I am blessed by having a dear husband of 30 years next year, who lovingly took care of me when I was sick. I wish you had someone to cook for you right now. If you lived in my neighborhood I'd organize a food brigade so each night some neighbor would cook enough to include your family as well, and deliver it to your house! :-D > > > > Yes, I know.
