Guest guest
Terri, It's impossible to say precisely what you can do to get rid of the fatigue. . . However, keep working on everything possible. It takes a while for the body to clearr the toxins and heal. . . Just don't overdo it when you have good days! You'll get there one step at a time! Wonderful to hear you're going back to work! Guest guest
Terri, Are you sleeping well? I take 5-htp before bed and it has really helped with my sleep and energy levels. Two weeks ago, I also started taking L-arginine, acetyl-L-carnitine, coQ10 and alpha lipoic acid and I have notice a BIG difference in pain and energy. Less pain, more energy. I keep thinking I will wake up and feel bad again, but for the past two weeks I have been feeling better each day. Maybe worth a try? Guest guest
, Since you feel worse since your surgery, I would guess that the drugs they used during surgery added to your toxic load. You likely need to detox. Are you doing anything at all in order to detox your body? Guest guest
Terri, If you take the amino acids, I would make sure and take enough of them to have an effect. I did a lot of research on PubMed to figure out therapeutic dosages. I take 1,250 mg L-arginine 2x/day, 1,000 mg Acetyl-L-Carnitine 2x/day, 400 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid 2x/day, and 100 mg CoQ10 2x/day. Of the 5-htp, I take 100 mg every night, 1 hour before bed--but if you haven't used it, I would try 50 mg for a while. Sometimes it can give you wacky dreams at first. It is a precursor to seretonin, so if you are taking an antidepressent, it might be wise to ask your doctor if it is okay to take. But if you aren't, then it could help with moods. I hope you feel better soon! Bindi Re: Explant on November 3rd!.... Bindi,Thanks I am going to try that combo. Guest guest
, It does take some time for the anesthesia drugs to leave the system. I've read it can take up to one month. Also, your body just went through a big ordeal. I would try and really baby yourself and do things that make you feel good-- baths, short walks, reading, movies, hot tea, whatever. Relaxing will really help you now. Bindi Explant on November 3rd!....> > > Hi Everyone..> > Thank you for your support with my decision to get my explant. Guest guest
One word of caution on taking 5-HTP, if you take an excessive amount, your serotonin will raise, which is a good thing if you are depressed but it can also cause cognitive problems as well. So if you already have brain fog, 5-HTP may not be a good thing. I'd recommend lab testing before taking it for that reason. Guest guest
Kenda, Wonder if that does the same thing with L-Tryptophan? I haven't tried that yet, but it's basically the same thing as 5-HTP, only it's "the real stuff", and much stronger, from what I hear.Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: One word of caution on taking 5-HTP, if you take an excessive amount, yourserotonin will raise, which is a good thing if you are depressed but it canalso cause cognitive problems as well. Guest guest
Leyna, L-Tryptophan is not absorbed by the body well when taken in its original state, that's why we supplement with 5HTP.
