Guest guest
Wow, very interesting. Some doctors do give you surgical vitamins, I know Dr. Feng gave them to me. I also was prescribed Celebrex, and Keflex (antibiotic), and I requested Percocet because I needed them. From what I've heard, Celebrex isn't bad if used for short periods of time, it's the long term that they believe is problematic. When I had the original implant surgery, I was given Valium and a medication for nausea, but I didn't have them for my explant. I never heard about the 80 grams of protein, that is very interesting, and so is the lymphatic massage. Guest guest
hi Sis, that is good to know about celebrex. I had Valium too, after my implants, but I remember it didn't really help at all. I will let you know about the lymphatic massage - I have always wanted to try it. > > > > hi all, > > > > I had my pre-op appointment and they have to move my suregery now > to > > Tuesday, 11/21! a day earlier! > > > > The dr. said she was shocked I didn't go with deflation (to make > > sure I was " sure " ) and conveyed that this little-known procedure > for > > explants was just discussed at a conference she was at - so, it > may > > be suggested more in the future when women request explant. be > > forewarned. Guest guest
, personally, and humbly, I think it's a bit overkill with the drugs. All I took was regular strength Advil after surgery (at home) Right after my explant they gave me a shot of Toradol (a non- addictive painkiller) I steer clear of narcotics unless I'm in a situation like a car accident - I was badly addicted to T3's and Ativan in the past, among other things. Flexeril was another one that I took to sleep, believe it or now. It would knock me out for 14 hours, when I wanted to escape life. That was just 1 tablet. I usually took 1/2 a tablet to help sleep. Now I use Dong Quai and Calcium/Magnesiun for muscle pain. I took Oil of Oregano to cover the antibiotic need. Oil of Oregano to be discontinued 2 weeks prior to surgeries, as it's a natural blood thinner, in case you didn't know this. My nausea was almost nil. Must be the new anaesthesia or something. Hope that's in your case, as well. Everyone's different and I don't like to impose what worked for me....go with the many wonderful suggestions you will likely get here. Follow your heart. Love, Sunny > > hi all, > > I had my pre-op appointment and they have to move my suregery now to > Tuesday, 11/21! a day earlier! > > The dr. said she was shocked I didn't go with deflation (to make > sure I was " sure " ) and conveyed that this little-known procedure for > explants was just discussed at a conference she was at - so, it may > be suggested more in the future when women request explant. be > forewarned. Guest guest
hi Dear Sunny, Thanks for sharing - well, my instinct was the same! They make you bring all these drugs on the surgery day - don't know if it's to make sure you really got them or WHAT. I priced them out and if you don't go generic, it's hundreds and hundreds of dollars! I can't tell you the last time I even had a prescription, so my body is not used to that for sure. I wasn't anticipating the pain like with implants, and this office sounds like they are treating me like that is what I am having. wow, i can't believe flexeril knocked you out! they all seem mighty strong. > > > > hi all, > > > > I had my pre-op appointment and they have to move my suregery now > to > > Tuesday, 11/21! a day earlier! > > > > The dr. said she was shocked I didn't go with deflation (to make > > sure I was " sure " ) and conveyed that this little-known procedure > for > > explants was just discussed at a conference she was at - so, it may > > be suggested more in the future when women request explant. be > > forewarned. Guest guest
I just had explant 9/12/06 and it wasn't no where near as bad as implantation...though I didn't have a problem with either....all I needed was tylenol. I also took keflex . I was fine...no pain at all.....now I still have the body aches and pains but never any pain from surgery. Good luck to you..........having mine removed was the best thing I ever did....and I look good too.
Guest guest
Bring to surgery? WOW! . . . never heard of this! I'm betting they will never look at them! Guest guest
Dearest , It's never taken much to get me high or drunk in the past. I'm an abstainer now for quite awhile, as I abused prescription drugs in the past. And took some street drugs as well, to numb the pain of my sexual abuse, before I had my therapy. My body is really sensitive to all drugs, and any more than 1/2 a glass of wine would turn me " ugly " ...all I wanted to do is argue...with anyone!! lol I'm so happy I'm older and somewhat wiser now. When people ask me " wouldn't you like to be young again? " I say, " Nope! " Especially with what the world is like now and what young people have to face....global warming, nuclear threat, etc. Blessings & Healing Prayers, Sunny > > > > > > hi all, > > > > > > I had my pre-op appointment and they have to move my suregery > now > > to > > > Tuesday, 11/21! a day earlier! > > > > > > The dr. said she was shocked I didn't go with deflation (to make > > > sure I was " sure " ) and conveyed that this little-known procedure > > for > > > explants was just discussed at a conference she was at - so, it > may > > > be suggested more in the future when women request explant. > be > > > forewarned. Guest guest
, another thought -- is this customary in the U.S. to bring your own drugs to the hospital? I haven't experienced that here in Canada. Only if you're already on medication and you're going to stay in the hospital for a time...you hand them in and they dispense them to you, or give you drugs from the hospital.
