Guest guest
Thanks Joanne - I sort of started the diet a few days ago - just cut out carbs, fruit (almost) and noticed taht I stopped comfort eating as mcu, stopped craving sugar and carbs. Was quite easy! Somethng happened since, not sure if connected to what you said about needing diet to heal emotional stuff? Yesterday, my son was doing something that triggered me (he wasn't doing anything wrong, he never does, but something in what he does triggers something from the past that causes immense anxiety/pain). I immediately felt a burning sensation iin my arms, which spread, and ended up all down my legs too. In the end, all of my arms and legs were bright red, like really bad sunburn. They were red and burning for about an hour I went to see a doctor, who just wanted to perscribe anti-histamine and some other drugs to stop pain. I declined both, I just wanted confirmation it was nothing serious. I told her about theother symptoms I had - the pleasure, numb, tingling in feet and hands, which sometimes spreads to round heart in an itchy kind of way - but she just seemed confused, or just thought my nerves are overstimulated and overfiring due to stress 9although pleasure sensations usually when relaxing). ________________________________ To: " fibromyalgiacured " <fibromyalgiacured > Sent: Thursday, 19 July 2012, 0:19 Subject: Bianca: the foods that are safe for us  Bianca  I have not forgotten about you, just so much on here. Guest guest
I went from a " carbaholic " as a teen/young adult to someone who now doesn't care for carbs, but I still am not as low carb as you are suggesting. Sometimes I eat a carb that I don't really want in order to stop the headache or shakiness I feel. Getting older finally stopped my ridiculously fast metabolism (something I welcomed, since I previously considered it a burden to have to eat as much as I did to maintain my weight). The drop in appetite and a relaxed version of the SCD diet is what helped me to kick the excessive carbs, but I still do have the problems I mentioned. Part of it is being on the run so much I am sure. I recently read thru GAPS that a tsp of half honey/half coconut oil as often as every 30 minutes is how you get thru the temporary low blood sugar that some people experience when they go low carb. I plan to try that. What I experience otherwise is a stomach that is rumbling as I am eating (I might be in the midst of eating a huge protein meal, but my stomach growls audibly as if I am starving), headaches, nausea and a faint feeling. Everything is exasperated by my POTS condition (orthostatic intolerance) that includes vertigo and vomiting. It's not something I can work thru, it's a " knock you flat " state that I need to avoid if I am to be able to take care of my family. I try to snack on raw nuts to keep out of this state, but I don't digest nuts all that well, so eating them causes other problems. I'm going to try the honey/oil and see if I can't make any more progress in eliminating the unnecessary carbs that remain in my diet.   >________________________________ > >To: " fibromyalgiacured " <fibromyalgiacured > >Sent: Friday, July 20, 2012 1:55 AM >Subject: Re: Bianca: the foods that are safe for us > > > >Thanks Joanne - I sort of started the diet a few days ago - just cut out carbs, fruit (almost) and noticed taht I stopped comfort eating as mcu, stopped craving sugar and carbs.
