Guest guest
Nobody has stats, because the manufacturers don't want them. But, from what we can figure, the majority have problems sooner or later, some immediately, some not for many years. If you keep them long enough, the figure will be 100% that have problems, because all implants will rupture in time. Guest guest
Lynda and I have been on the implant scene longer than anyone else in the group . . . I have to agree with her that, given enough time, virtually all women will have problems. Although many won't admit it! Celebrities have their implants replaced regularly - every three to five years . . . and they still have problems. IMHO, it's simply not worth the risk . . . If it was a matter of saving one's life or a vital function, it would be a different matter . . . When it comes to a cosmetic result, there are bras that can give you whatever size you want to be . . . And, if your partner thinks that boobs are more important than your health is, he's the biggest boob of all! Rogene
Guest guest
Rogene, Amen to that! Guest guest
I don't think anyone really knows. I think there have been some guesses or estimations based on some of the information that has come out from the FDA hearings, but that information is not reliable. I am not sure that everyone gets ill from their implants. There are some women who have had them for amazingly long periods of time without great suffering and sickness like we've experienced. Then there are other women who get sick after nearly a decade or more of implant exposure. And then there are those like us who have gotten sick in 6 months or less, others at a year or so, still others after 3 or more years. There's no pattern! Looks like it just hits when the immune system finally gives out. But the symptoms and progression of illness are all pretty similar--too much for coincidence I'd say. As many medical professionals have noted, implants have a huge failure rate and the risks are so high...they are the worst medical device on the market, in terms of performance. Patty Stats? I was just wondering does anyone know the stats on like how many women have problems with there implants? Like a percentage or 1 out of 5 thing. Would love to know. Thanks agian for all your help.
